Boy Scouts Defy Rules, Wear Uniforms in Gay Pride Parade

Despite a directive from a leader of the Great Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), prohibiting scouts from advocating political or social positions, some scouts and adult supporters of Scouts for Equality wore their uniforms Sunday as they marched in Utah

I think you are being naive. First of all, the gay mafia got their foot in the door and for that the victory goes to them, not the BSA for waving the white flag of surrender. Gaining admission for gay leaders is going to be laughably easy after this.

BSA should have taken the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment. In showing unforgivable weakness, they have begun a slow death spiral.

Second, there is a difference between being gay and being openly gay. The former I cautiously agree with you about because strong male role models are a positive thing. The latter has NO PLACE in Boy Scouts. Boys are there to learn to be men, not to be distracted by open displays from other boys who are confused about their own gender.

Scouting is not about sex at all. I am pretty sure that most boy scout leaders did not sign up to chaperone perverted “couples” on campouts. And if they ever kick a kid out for breaking any rules, just let the discrimination lawsuits begin. No, the BSA should NEVER have cracked the door on this. If a kid has openly declared that he has no interest in being a true man, then he should be denied membership.

In a word... No. I am a Scoutmaster. This new policy is one of affirmation. We WILL NOT be able to tell a homosexual boy that it is wrong and point them in the correct direction. We MUST accept his homosexuality as normal and encourage him. This will be strictly enforced and the homosexual activist will be ready to sue any troop that does not comply into non existence, and since the BSA policy is to admit them and affirm them, the BSA legal will not help.

As for adults, this decision guts the Supreme court case in favor of the BSA ( DALE case). They no longer have that protection. Adult open and avowed homosexuals will be admitted into BSA ranks very soon.

The BSA as we knew it died on May 23, 2013. I will no longer be a part of it , or my two sons and wife who was on the committee. Anyone currently in BSA and who does not agree with this policy needs to get out and let it rot and die.
