An ever-increasing number of analysts and journalists have drawn parallels between the Obama White House’s handling of scandals plaguing the administration and Former President Nixon’s management of Watergate. It took just a few minutes to see if that comparison had any “there there”. There were many similarities and one striking difference:
Nobody died in Watergate?
That is true - no one died at Watergate.
It is a 2 minute video showing
Nixon : “I first learned about this in the press.”
At the end of the video, “Obama has yet to say: I am responsible.”
Nixon would have NEVER helped al Qaeda like

The first site comment about the video nailed one of the most important reasons that the Watergate comparison does not work; to wit, "The difference, Nixon talked about it, Little Barry did it." (Those damn White House tapes again.)
Yes I thank the video for one of the two reasons a Watergate comparison makes sense; to wit, Nixon took responsibilities for the crime of the coverup.
The second reason is to simply piss off Obama and supporters. But as for all the others..
my dictionary defines ENDEAVOR: "A conscientious or concerted effort toward an end; an earnest attempt. 2. Purposeful or industrious activity; enterprise. See Synonyms at effort."
Why did the Articles of Impeachment charge that Nixon endeavored to use . . . . Why didn't the Articles of Impeachment charged that he used . . . ?

The Articles of Impeachment elsewhere include: "He misused the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service . . . ."
The authors knew the difference.
Maybe they can answer my oft-asked question: What did Nixon do that JFK and LBJ didn't do?
Absolute zero Watergate comparison vis-a-vis the MSM attitude. The MSM wanted Nixon out (if not dead) and I recall TV network evening news when there were no other stories but Watergate. Everyday above the fold in newspapers. Cover to cover in weekly news magazines.
Compare that to today.. ask someone "Do you know about Benghazi?" They will likely respond "No. Who is he?"
Yes Nixon orchestrated the cover up. He very likely did not know about the Watergate break-in until after. That is another Nixon-Obama contrast, Nixon was telling the truth.
Nixon had no reason to be concerned about the Democrats. He was way ahead and won all but one state in the 1972 election. IIRC.
As for corruption in the highest office, Obama is worse than any others I have ever seen. I remember Watergate, but was not informed on details at the time. I do recall it was on every major network tv station and not much has been in the local newspaper.
Perhaps the intent of the video was to send a message to Obama supporters that they might see a little of the corruption in DC today. It is true the video might inflame those supporters.
As far as the articles of impeachment for Nixon this probably explains it all.
