I’m sure there have been Gay Scouts, just as there have always been gays in the military....that’s not the point.

The point is, once you allow open gays in, they will come in, and will demand the organization accommodates their culture.

I’m sure there have been gay Scouts, and maybe even some Gay Scout parent leaders who were closeted and otherwise were exemplary Scouts....but that was because they still subscribed to the Scout culture, without demanding it change for them.

Now, all bets are off.

Not only are all bets off now, this decision has effectively destroyed the Boy Scouts Organization. I hope every parent that has a son in this organization will leave it in droves and leave only the sodomites to run it from now own.

And here’s a message to the ones who voted in favor of allowing openly gay members into the Scouts: THIS IS YOUR FAULT, IDIOTS!

There are things that should always remain part of a subculture. Smoking pot, risky sexual behavior, graffiti tagging, curling... these are behaviors that will always exist in close knit groups that usually revel in their counter cultural activities. They feel daring. Unusual. Special.

If all these subcultures get absorbed into the everyday acceptable mundane world, the rebels WILL find even more radical ways to separate themselves.

Remember when a man with a tattoo meant he was military and had served overseas or gotten really really drunk in Norfolk? Now 19 year old girls named Tiffany are running around covered with doodles that look like the cover of my high school Trapper Keeper.

Don't ask don't tell --> gays in military

Civil Unions --> gay marriage

Only gay scouts --> gay scouts and leaders

Obamacare --> single payer

The liberals have a knack for crafting and implementing compromise positions that are unsustainable in the long run. In the short run they appear to be good sports in accepting the compromise, but in the long run they get all that they want and more.

We on the right know this, but unfortunately there are enough low information moderates in the middle that get suckered into agreeing with this nonsense time after time.

Actually, there have not been. There may have been scouts who had same-sex attraction, but "gay" refers to a political, activist attitude, something that had always been condemned and disallowed in scouting when it came to the forefront. We must use the language accurately and specifically in these dark days.

John Stemberger of OnMyHonor.net characterized this designation best in his op ed piece on this issue:

This [pro-resolution BSA] statement is remarkably disingenuous and fails to recognize the reality of the “gay” culture in America. “Open and avowed” homosexuality or to identify oneself as “openly gay” in America consistently involves a flaunting of sexuality and the promotion of a left-leaning social political agenda. Things described as “gay” (e.g. gay movies, gay websites, gay magazines, gay parades etc…) almost uniformly involve images, speech, symbols and content which is blatantly sexual and utterly inappropriate for children. This hyper-sexualized behavior and conduct (apart from sexual acts themselves) are precisely what the proposed Resolution opens to door to when it proposes to allow open homosexuality in the BSA.
