Almost to a man and woman, you are correct.

Thanks popdonnelly for a note of sanity. There has been an uptick in these "cut~n~run" threads lately and sometimes I feel like I'm trying to swim upstream.

Which side will I have to protect my family against?

The answer is that in the chaos of civil war you will most likely have to watch your back, your front, and both sides. Unlike the WBTS an ideological civil war won't have ant front lines. There is every possibility that it would be neighbor fighting neighbor with no one the winner. I understand people being pissed off about our current condition but blowing everything up isn't the solution.

Again we agree. He was not a Republican and certainly not a conservative. But he was also not a race-card-playing socialist.

And that right there is exactly the problem with the GOP-E.

Their constant mantra of "Our guy is not as bad as their guy" and yet there is a recent pattern of each successive GOP Presidential candidate being more and more like a Democrat.

Sure, everyone can see that Romney was/is nowhere near as bad as Obama.

That being said, Romney would have move things in a leftward fashion in dangerous ways, both morally and fiscally, that would have destroyed the national GOP, just exactly like he did in Massachusetts.

That is so true. Every GOP Presidential candidate should be part Calvin Coolidge and part Ronald Reagan. But as you said, that's no longer the case.

So what's the solution? Armed revolution? No. The solution is to send the GOP the way of the Whigs and replace it with a real Coolidge-Reagan party.

Of course, that's easier said than done. The current GOP-E has lots of money and lots of influence.

Kokesh’s idea needs rethinking bigtime; large peaceful protests would be a better way to win hearts and minds right now. Marching with loaded guns into the District of Criminals seems bold and brilliant to the drum beating wannabe warriors who 1) hope the conservatives will rush to rally around their leadership and flag 2) expect to escape/survive miraculously; but it’d be a physical and psychological donnybrook trap the left would love. It would become John Brown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry, or the Indians putting their rifles under their ponchos at wounded knee, or Custer’s and Pickett’s charges. Cooler heads should have prevailed. Dying for action? A siege on Wahussington after blowing up the bridges would get more MSM attention and be more effective but it would end worse for the right-wing extremist than it did for my ancestors after they fired on Ft Sumter. Maybe Kokesh radicals should listen to the song, “Don’t take your guns to town son, leave your guns at home”. Right now, use your heads instead. Lanier with four stars looks ridiculous and her loyal cadre probably average about 100 IQ. Don’t even attack stupid Affirmative Action lick-spittle traitors at an enemy strong point in broad daylight with an inferior force. The POS Muslim commie-organizer cheerleader POTUS will start the revolution soon enough; spend your efforts preparing for that.

Exactly. And I’ll bet that it wasn’t more than 6% who threw the British government out of the US colonies.

The 1/3-1/3-1/3 split is about the same today.

More telling....26 states are controlled by conservative GOPer’s in both houses and the governorships. 30 have GOP Governors and control at least one house.

We are no longer one nation. DC is an imperial city. It ends west of the Potomac, west of the Hudson, and east of the Sierra Nevada’s and Cascades. The rest of us are no more than colonies to them. Ignorant savages to be dragooned into their model world.

It will be a state, not a peasant rebellion...just like 1775 and 1861...that is the American way. Google the nullification laws on various issues now in place in so many states...Kansas and MO just passed nullification in the last week. I lose count. Here is a decent place to start...

http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/

The French didn’t pile on or even provide aid until late 1778 3 years into it. Popular support at one point was down to 2,500 cold, shoeless, unfed, unpaid men crossing the Delaware to capture Trenton and keep us in the war.

“Now is the time that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and sunshine patriot are long gone.” Sound familiar?

And....the federal government may be good at selective intimidation, but they are not effective on a large scale....were you ever in the military? A public school? Ever seen a large scale FEMA operation up close? A VA hospital? Airport security? Bay of Pigs? BenGhazi? 9/11? Boston bomber? Katrina? Sandy Hook relief? Fast and Furious? The current gun control circus bus crash?

And the most effective among them would in large part “go south” as they used to say.

I for one would rather face a pack of affirmative action fat lesbians from CA or NYC than one steely eyed country boy from TN with a trident and anchor pounded into his chest.

I personally think the current brink of disaster is outrageous and hope to hell it recedes...but people are stupid in herds and things get out of hand....August 1914.

I do not doubt that they believe their own BS and think they are omnipotent....I fear that they are stupid enough to try to prove it.

Pray for peace and God’s aid.

We lost our country on January 22, 1973.

When it became illegal to protect unborn life, our country lost its way. I firmly believe that we need to reverse this situation before God will again shed His Grace on us.

"You become the people the founders warned us against." Your quote.

Founding Fathers Quotes: (didn't see any warning's from them like you describe though....?)

Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. Patrick Henry

The truth is, all might be free if they valued freedom, and defended it as they ought. Samuel Adams

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. Samuel Adams

Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God. Benjamin Franklin

During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been leveled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare. These abuses of an institution so important to freedom and science are deeply to be regretted, inasmuch as they tend to lessen its usefulness and to sap its safety. Thomas Jefferson

I have sworn upon the alter of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson

Some states have a big percentage of people who are nothing alike. Those states will have to find a way to resolve their issues. There are a lot of options for those who live in states controlled by tyrants who disregard the Constitution; including their own state Constitution. I don't advise people surrendering their state unless they have pursued every possible way of winning it back.

As someone viewing this from outside I am surprised that people have not organised enough that you all would have chosen a few states capable of secession and decided to move there in your hundreds of thousands - even millions and vote yourselves out of the Union if possible.

Either that or you need to take over local government to start with and then move to the Statehouse. Maybe it’s not blood you need to give - sacrifice comes in many forms.

I honestly do think it is inevitable. When it happens, the world will be shocked at the brutality that Americans inflict on one another.

Still, it won’t happen untill the average Joe is willing to chuck a brick through the window of the local party headquarters of either party, of the IRS, EPA or any number of other alphabet agencies. Until that time, it is all just talk.

“PS - It's not that the GOP lacks gonads, it's that they're complicit: nothing else explains the level of incompetence in opposing the Democrats’s socialist agenda — they must be “in on it”.”

I've often said that. The GOP often nominates a candidate despised by the rank and file. Then the elitists and Rino’s excoriate and blame that same rank and file after each defeat for lacking sufficient loyalty. They grovel and slobber before their Democrat and media masters for the chance to lose elections. Dole, McCain, and Romney; three losers who pulled punches against the enemy after sliming their fellow GOP candidates in the primaries.

The GOP is often a party of quislings and betrayers, playing the Washington Generals to the Democrat Globetrotters. They have to be in on the snookering and throwing the game on purpose. Nobody could be that stupid every four years. It has to be intentional.

I am not smirking or mocking. Simply identifying the risks associated with such bravado talk.

I have weapons and ammo...enough to accommodate several persons bedsides myself. Yet I am not optimistic were I to need help, that I would receive it in the event of a Koresh style take-down.

I would be burned out, myself and my family killed and my weapons and ammo seized. With nary a smidgen of help. I don’t expect the FBI, State Police, Sheriff and Townies to be taking heat from behind them. An assault on them from their rear in an attempt to assist me.

Koresh was a nut, but he hadn’t committed a crime until the Clintigula administration’s lackies kept pushing him until he relented on the shortened shotgun.

Without some sort of organized response, individually we will die.

How many would be willing to face the wrath of the state for daring to support and assist moi? I’m not even sure that my best friend would go there, and we have been through think and thin.

I’m not optimistic about those who say they will, and those who actually will.

Cold War style of secession will happen, actually its already started.

States like Kansas, Missouri, South Carolina making Obamacare illegal or creating laws to prosecute any Federal agents enforcing gun laws.

The more Obama uses his EO privileges the more people will ignore him.

Pretty soon I expect their may be discussions at the state level of border inspections being more enforced such as a vehicle from a blue state having to pay a higher tollway charge than the red states residents.
