Obamacare Will "Boost Number Of Jobs Higher Because Of More Part-Time Jobs"
RCP Video ^ | 5-3-2013

Posted on 05/04/2013 3:48:39 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Former Biden economic adviser Jared Bernstein says that Obamacare may create more part-time jobs than full-time jobs:

"...... Now, it is true that down the road, there will be incentives in the health care law where some firms may decide they'd rather create part time jobs instead of full time jobs -- we'll have to see. But by the way, just in terms of raw job counts, that could actually boost the number of jobs higher because you'd have more part-time jobs. None of these factors are playing out in these data yet, ......."

DOWN THE ROAD?????

Firms are cutting back full-time employment and only hiring part-time jobs NOW, you numbskull.

WHO says Biden is an economy genius with you advising him on these fuzzy numbers?

The question would be asked eventually....are you better off today than you were ten years ago? The answer...for some fool who is working fifty hours a week in some part-time status in each, with almost no benefits or healthcare....is you are not better off.

It’s the politicians, judges, and bureaucrats that need to be put on a part time job status. 29 hours a week along with a salary and benefits that match.

Best of all, it will count as two jobs in the BLS numbers. We'll soon have more jobs than workers!!!

It’s happening right now in front of their noses and they cannot (or will not) see it.

Jerry Brown from 1995
http://biggovernment.com/mrichmond/2010/06/10/jerry-brown-flashback-we-need-more-welfare-and-fewer-jobs/

The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I’m talking about welfare for all. Without it, you’re going to have warfare for all. Without a universal health care like every other civilized country, without a minimum level of income, this country will explode. You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever. At some point there’s a reaction and we’ll see that the real criminals are those calling the tune, making the rules, and walking to the bank. We have the money, we have the brain power. The United States now has the highest measured wealth of any nation ever in the history of the world. We could rebuild our cities, we could create the kind of buying power and community well-being that will provide for peace. The guaranteed income is one way.

Your children are now fed at school...365 days a year...so you don't have to cook.

And you can send them to head start and go back to bed.

Your welfare visa card is good at the casinos and saloons.

Of course you're better off!!!

I agree, that firms are cutting back to part-time status a lot, if not all, of their workforce.

Something that I experienced, when living in Portland, OR, in the 90’s, was that the temporary employment agencies had a stranglehold on the jobs in the corporate sector of the city. It is known that temporary agenices promise you a lot of ‘benefits’, with attached language that you need a microscope to see, let alone navigate.

Now, let’s look at how this will explode with obamacare in full stranglehold. You can be ‘vetted’ through temporary employment agencies, with paid-for-by-the-contractor screening tests, (which are psychological aberrations of ‘tripping’ software writers); You can be paid through these same agencies, instead of the contractor’s active books; and you get no reprieves or forgiveness, when you have to get your child ‘right now’, or you have medical tests that keep you out more than in, or you just happen to work for a woman that feels you are taking advantage of her.

I look back at all that, lean back and smile, that I’m retired, and no longer in the Portland area.

OK, this is the snipet from Jerry Brown's speech/writing from Biggovernment dot com.

The problem is "You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever". THE GUY at the bottom moved on to become more self-sufficient, some newer and/or younger guy replaces the position of 'the guy at the bottom'.

Nowadays, the guys at the bottom stay at the bottom forever, absolutely no incentives to move on to elsewhere. Dems (and Repubs now) promised (and LIED to) them as long as they vote the right way, the gravy train will continue.

I see this as a manufactured crisis.

My neighborhood has turned into subsidized housing, most of the schools have over 50% free lunches, mine has nearly 100%.

Los Angeles is broke, California is broke, yet the city of Los Angeles is removing car lanes and putting in bicycle and bus lanes so that commuters can take Chinese built public transportation from their subsidized housing to their jobs located in technology centers located on the transit lines.

Taxes are being increased by the government thru ObamaCare, the EPA, FDA, California’s own Cap and Tax, and on and on.

While some people will put up living off the producers of this country and work at part time jobs, others will be working for themselves and putting in the necessary hours required to accumulate wealth. They are already pushing the hatred of people with money.

Next year when California’s Cap and Tax and ObamaCare kicks into a higher gear, more people will lose their jobs, more houses will be foreclosed, the government will lose tax money and have to cut back on the freebees and we will see the same thing that is happening in the European Union with riots in the street.

I’m moving, my house is in escrow. I expect home values to drop drastically next year, but I’m willing to put up with that.

And the market soars on manufactured data - I’m convinced the big money players are manipulating the heck out of it to bleed as much of our manufactured money out of it as the Fed will put in. It seems that we never had this kind of day-to-day big swings and I’m convinced that when it hits the dips, it’s a testing of the waters to see if they can push it a little bit higher before they suck it dry when it can no longer be sustained.
