I have an insider in the LAT, and mentioned it a few times in different threads. They are ALL libtards.

However, there are just a few of them who are Ok with the money that was offered to them and the new direction of the LAT. Then again, there are the frothing, brain-dead, typical libs who just cannot and won’t accept the Koch policies. They would rather slit their throats than go along with it but they are mostly not editors, but rank and file staff and “reporters”.

I guess the mental giants in the LA Times newsroom just assume they can pick up the phone and secure a gig at another major daily, like the Washington Post or The New York Times.

Memo to “journalists” at the Los Angeles Times. Have you tallied the number of layoffs at other papers around the country? Both the NYT and Post (among various publications) have been through several rounds of newsroom buyouts and layoffs. And the few new hires who have joined the staff are younger and making a lot less than you. Get ready for early retirement, or a long stint in the unemployment line.

Personally, I’d love to see the Koch Brothers convert all of these papers into a local “shopper” publication, cut them back to a publishing schedule of two or three days a week, and sell off most of their real estate holdings. However, I’ve been told that the Kochs view their purchases as an effort to “level the playing field” for conservatives in the MSM. But it’s a failed strategy; daily papers are dying on the vine and they’d be better off launching more conservatives news sites. To be fair, I’ve heard some rumors that most of these publications will be on-line only in 3-5 years, with far smaller staffs. With that model, they might be able to turn a profit.
