I do NOT read any attempt at discussion/communication that begins with...#.

Just a personal choice. Besides...I have no freakin idea what “ # “ means and I do not want to learn.

I have an insider in the LAT, and mentioned it a few times in different threads. They are ALL libtards.

However, there are just a few of them who are Ok with the money that was offered to them and the new direction of the LAT. Then again, there are the frothing, brain-dead, typical libs who just cannot and won’t accept the Koch policies. They would rather slit their throats than go along with it but they are mostly not editors, but rank and file staff and “reporters”.

This is a good thing. Most of them were probably going to get pink slips anyway. Get the propogandists out of there and maybe they can hire REAL journalists.

And fifteen minutes later all the vacant positions were filled by itinerant farm workers who “speaketh English not so good”, but perfectly capable and matching the needs of the papers customer base.

Heck I might just buy a subscription again, if the LA times gets new conservative ownership.

Bet I’m hardly alone, either.

I guess the mental giants in the LA Times newsroom just assume they can pick up the phone and secure a gig at another major daily, like the Washington Post or The New York Times.

Memo to “journalists” at the Los Angeles Times. Have you tallied the number of layoffs at other papers around the country? Both the NYT and Post (among various publications) have been through several rounds of newsroom buyouts and layoffs. And the few new hires who have joined the staff are younger and making a lot less than you. Get ready for early retirement, or a long stint in the unemployment line.

Personally, I’d love to see the Koch Brothers convert all of these papers into a local “shopper” publication, cut them back to a publishing schedule of two or three days a week, and sell off most of their real estate holdings. However, I’ve been told that the Kochs view their purchases as an effort to “level the playing field” for conservatives in the MSM. But it’s a failed strategy; daily papers are dying on the vine and they’d be better off launching more conservatives news sites. To be fair, I’ve heard some rumors that most of these publications will be on-line only in 3-5 years, with far smaller staffs. With that model, they might be able to turn a profit.

TO #12> Not going to “get pink slips”, just going to wear them!

If liberal reporters leave the LA Times, will anybody notice, care, or fart? That is the real question.

I am sure there are plenty of bright, home-schooled (or not), conservative writers both young and old, that could fill those positions in a nano-second.

There was a time, long ago, when I would purchase and read the LA Times every day. I considered the Times to be a good newspaper and considered Times reporters to be a reasonable, professional group.

Then I moved right and the Times moved left. These days I wouldn't wrap a dead fish in the LA Times, out of respect for the fish. I hope the Koch brothers buy the paper and organize a comprehensive purge of its leftist propagandists.
