Well, I think it’s just plain old gullibility, rather than craziness. Most women aren’t converting to Islam on their own; they fall in love with some guy and then let themselves get conned into converting. So, they are just plain old suckers, as far as I can tell.

Agree....and note the ages of these woman before they converted...many in college or just out of...as Katherine Russel.
This is an age of discovery for young woman, and also “quiet” rebellion against parental authority.
But the bottom line is these woman are making a decision to convert, no diffierent than those who fall into cults of various shapes and sizes in their twenties....but this choice can be a deadly one...and very difficult to walk away from.
