Smokers and the obese pay more for healthcare; when will homosexuals pay their "fair share?"
Coach is Right ^ | 4/18/13 | Derrick Hollenbeck

There is an increasing trend toward higher health insurance rates for those who are overweight and live “unhealthy” lifestyles as defined by insurance companies and employers. As the thinking goes, the obese and others (usually smokers) are automatically viewed as chronically unhealthy and above average consumers of healthcare services.

Whether this is true for a particular person or not has become irrelevant. More premium money has to be collected from somewhere and neither the cowardly insurance companies nor our feckless politically correct corporate leaders will demand higher premiums from homosexuals whose risky lifestyle is well established as a cause of...

Charging smokers and the obese more for insurance is not allowed under Obamacare.

How much does AIDS treatment cost? back in the 80s, it was over $1 million per patient.

Since male homosexuals have an average lifespan of over 30 years less than obese or smokers, it stands to reason that, since they willingly engage in horribly dangerous behavior, that they should pay much, much more.

the obese . . . smokers . . . homosexuals

Cue the Animal Farm meme that seems to define the far left:

Liberals are okay with charging heavy people and smokers more because they are not entitled to special protection. Homosexuals are a protected group, since they are more reliable liberal voters, so insurance companies are not entitled to discriminate against them by charging more for their statistically more expensive care. Apparently that makes sense to those who have been bought by liberals giving away our tax dollars.

Coach IS right, but it would have been nice of him to point to actuarial statistics.

I remember reading once that being gay shortens your lifespan more than smoking 3 packs a day.

There are different gay lifestyles but the promiscuous, which covers close to 85% of them, get their life shortened by about 30 years, compared to around 10 years for the average smoker.

And that doesn't even count the cost of taking out a cancerous lung (relatively routine) versus the cost of treating AIDS (high tech and much more expensive).

Unless, their lifespan being an average of 30 years less, they will require much less healthcare and lower costs during their shortened lifespans. In which case, they might actually get a discount.
