Army Email Labels Christian Ministries as “Domestic Hate Groups” ("Anti-Gay")
Fox News Radio ^ | April 9, 2013 | Todd Starnes

Posted on 04/09/2013 4:39:33 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

A U.S. Army officer sent an email to dozens of subordinates listing the American Family Association and Family Research Council as “domestic hate groups” because they oppose homosexuality — and warned officers to monitor soldiers who might be supporters of the groups.

“Just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values,” read an email from Lt. Col. Jack Rich to three dozen subordinates at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. “When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values – don’t just walk by – do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.”

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, told Fox News he was disturbed by the contents of the email.

“It’s very disturbing to see where the Obama Administration is taking the military and using it as a laboratory for social experimentation — and also as an instrument to fundamentally change the culture,” he said. “The message is very clear – if you are a Christian who believes in the Bible, who believes in transcendent truth, there is no place for you in the military.”

The Army denied there is any attack on Christians or those who hold religious beliefs.

“The notion that the Army is taking an anti-religion or anti-Christian stance is contrary to any of our policies, doctrines and regulations,” said George Wright, Army spokesman at the Pentagon. “Any belief that the Army is out to label religious groups in a negative manner is without warrant.”

Wright said they are checking into the origin of the email. At this point it’s unclear who ordered the email to be sent and why.

The 14-page email documented groups the military considers to be anti-gay, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim....

Nothing new here. Our own government views white Christians as the biggest threat to their goals.

Who is Lt. Col Jack Rich? What is his background? What are HIS values? What is it about today's Arny that makes him think he can use command influence to foster anti-Christian bigotry? If the DOD really opposes such bigotry, he needs to be relieved. Immediately.

If Europe is any measure, we’ve probably only got about 10 years before the government starts making these pronouncements official, and forces Christians and their churches to embrace the homos under penalty of law.

" warned officers to monitor soldiers who might be supporters of the groups."

Lt. Col. Jack Rich, obviously a compny kiss ass looking to show the new bosses he warrents consideration for the upgrade. Jack, you are a sorry excuse for a human being. Aside from being selfish and ignorant you are failing to show leadership and failure to uphold the oath you took .

You claim it is your responsibility to uphold the constitution for all seeking liberty and freedom. In that, you claim those whose sexual persuasion different from the norm deserves to have the same freedom and liberties.

In your perversion to accomplish this act, you have made us the people you were sworn to protect the enemy

Kinda makes you the enemy of the state, does it not?

Conservatives have no reason to enter the military anymore. Just to be clear, your kids will be indoctrinated in school, college, and the military. Next, the Southern Poverty Law Center will be given shock troopers.

No, as a matter of fact they list some organizations as “against Army values” for being so-called anti-Muslim.

There is a LTC Jack L. Rich at Fort Campbell, as well as video of him giving an unrelated briefing.

Ping to Hulka... What do you think now? Do you still believe this comment: "I suggest that if you thank a serviceman for his service you should stop because he, according to you, is one step away from shooting you if obummer says so."

Just which Army Values do you think this guy is espousing?

Pretty soon everyone’s performance report will have to say: (Sgt Joe Blow) supports the equal opportunity programs for race, gender, sexual perversions, religious persecution and understands that the so called constitution is archaic.

Does anyone here have personal knowledge about LTC Rich. If this is the same person a couple hundred respectful but very angry letters to the CO 101st AB Div would not do good things to the perpetrator's career. There are far too many officers like this specimen in the officer corps today. The person who wrote these remarks would have no problem firing on US citizens if they defied some federal ukase.

The twisted logic, acrobatic mental manipulations and inside out/upside down thought processes required to keep abreast of these mind contorting screwball ideas-edicts they come oup with are overloading my sensory fuses. As smoke rolls from the ears.

The way things are going, if someone becomes offended by the arrangement of our alphabet, that too will have to be addressed.

Not this guy or the rest of the Army: “The notion that the Army is taking an anti-religion or anti-Christian stance is contrary to any of our policies, doctrines and regulations,” said George Wright, Army spokesman at the Pentagon. “Any belief that the Army is out to label religious groups in a negative manner is without warrant.”

I thank you for no longer pinging me.

So, here are your choices:
a) Be an adult and don’t reply and honor my request.
or
b) Be a child and reply because you simply HAVE to get the last word.

(I’m betting you opt for ‘b.’)

Prove me wrong.

He has an impressive background by Army standards. He was a company commander in the 1st Ranger Bn. He served in combat with the Rangers. He is currently the commander of one of the Currahee Battalions in Fort Campbell. (all on Linked In). Many infantry officers would be envious of what he has done. My guess is he sat through one PC lecture too many. I wouldn’t be surprised if his 14-page email just killed his Army career. His profile does not reveal his educational background - ie. West Point?? Masters Degree?? Unknown.

It's at the same base mentioned in the article, Ft. Knox.

He is an Infantry Officer with Ranger Battalion experience. I am fairly certain he has been releived. What I don’t know is if the relief is related to the comments he made.

So, is the Army then going to take immediate action against those sending such emails? Of course not.

This is extremely disturbing. AFA & FRC are 2 of the finest Christian organizations speaking the truth about deadly homosexual behavior.

The Lieutenant Colonel is a blind, pink Nazi gestapo. That is the only way to describe him.

DANGEROUS RADICALS OF THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT !

[quotes are from Vital Quotations by Emerson West]

ROBERT E. LEE: “In all my perplexities and distresses, the Bible has never failed to give me light and strength.” (p. 21)
DANIEL WEBSTER: “If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper.” (p. 21)
JOHN QUINCY ADAMS: “I have made it a practice for several years to read the Bible through in the course of every year.” (p. 22)
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: “I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Saviour of the world is communicated to us through this book.” (p. 22)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” (p. 22)
HORACE GREELEY: “It is impossible to mentally or socially enslave a Bible-reading people.” (p. 23)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: “I hold the precepts of Jesus as delivered by himself to be the most pure, benevolent, and sublime which have ever been preached to man. I adhere to the principles of the first age; and consider all subsequent innovations as corruptions of this religion, having no foundation in what came from him.” (p. 45)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: “Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would by now have become Christian.” (p. 47)
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: “As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, is the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see.” (p.49)
WOODROW WILSON: “The sum of the whole matter is this——that our civilization cannot survive materially unless it be redeemed spiritually. It can only be saved by becoming permeated with the spirit of Christ and being made free and happy by practices which spring out of that spirit.” (p. 143)
PATRICK HENRY: “There is a just God who presides over the destiny of nations.” (p. 145)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: “Material abundance without character is the surest way to destruction.” (p. 225)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: “Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to me so pure as that of Jesus.” (p. 237)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: “The foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing is a vice so mean and low, that every person of sense and character detests and despises it.” (p. 283)
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: “Here is my creed. I believe in one God, the Creator of the universe. That he governs it by his Providence. That he ought to be worshiped.” (p. 301)
CALVIN COOLIDGE: “The strength of a country is the strength of its religious convictions.” (p. 305)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: “The perpetuity of this nation depends upon the religious education of the young.” (p. 306)

Prior to our increasingly “Hell-Bound and Happy” era, America’s greatest leaders were part of the (gulp) Religious Right! Today we have forgotten God’s threat (to abort America) in Psa. 50:22——”Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.”

[Oops , the US Army has forgotten that America’s past greats were right in line with American Family Association’s beliefs! The above quotes were spotted on the web.]
