On a hour long interview with Alex Jones, Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed states that they will be releasing files for a functional, completely 3D printed pistol within a month.
Cody states "We have found some ways to make printable guns work."
Defense Distributed has already shown that they can make workable, usable magazines and lower receivers. This will be the first completely printable firearm.
Expectations are not high, but Cody Wilson believes that it will be capable of a few shots before it becomes inoperable.
It will be a modern day Liberator pistol, delivered by the internet rather than air dropped.

Foolish of them to announce in advance. This gives the enemy 30 days to try to disrupt them or shut them down.
They should have kept their mouths shut til the day of release.
They have been upfront about this goal ever since they organized.
It is fairly simple to construct a functioning pistol using basic hardware and plumbing supplies.

There may be a futile attempt to censor the internet.
I was disappointed there were no pictures - How many moving parts? Is the body all one piece?
Don't telegraph your punches --"skulk in the shadows", until you're really ready to hit them, good and hard.
In other words... Better to put the plans out by surprise, and let them be copied and downloaded millions of times, before the enemy knows.

Don't you think that waiting 30 days, and then saying, "It's already out there!", would accomplish that goal more effectively?
Even if it were not pre-announced, the first hundred maybe two hundred who downloaded the plans/program would not be tracked, but trust me when I tell you that the entire Internet is fully monitored and most of those downloading such a program will be registered in an NSA data based and searchable.
Some folks are going to get ground up in the process, but freedom hasn't ever been won by cautious individuals. It's been the hot-heads that push the issue and sometimes get smacked down that make progress.

I am with you, JR. The 3D effort is pure psyops. Guns have been made in homes for 500 years.
This just makes that fact obvious and undeniable.
Liberals are like bullys. They are used to intimidating conservatives and getting away with it. As Gov. Scott Walker so ably showed, when you stand up to them you have a good chance of winning. And win he did.

Yep. I've had a lathe and a milling machine in the shop for years. Any day I want, I can go out there and start cranking out Liberator equivalents and I'm just a cook that passed shop class.
