Skip to comments.LIES OUR GOVERNMENT TELLS US: Government Spending Soars After Sequester
Posted on 03/18/2013 8:23:51 AM PDT by Moseley
Will you and your family be harmed by 10% cuts in government spending known as the sequester? Or have politicians been caught lying to us, going way too far this time?
The U.S. Government spent $1.78 trillion dollars in Fiscal Year 2000. It will spend $3.42 trillion in Fiscal Year 2013 even after the 10% sequester. Thats an increase of $1.63 trillion repeating each year more than the U.S. Government spent in 2000. Thats 91% more spending every year.
In Fiscal Year 2000 at half the spending -- airplanes were flying, meat and food were being inspected for safety, children were getting White House tours, national parks were open, firemen were putting out fires, school teachers were in the classroom, young kids were in Head Start, and airport security was moving passengers to their gate.
So why cant government afford these services at $3.42 trillion per year when it could afford them at $1.78 trillion per year? The truth is buried within data published by the Office of Management and Budget posted at www.WhiteHouse.Gov in Table 4.1Outlays by Agency: 19622017.
Spending under Barack Obama has exploded. But Federal spending had already exploded under George Bush. Conservatives rebelled against big spending in the 2006 elections, causing Republicans to lose control of Congress. Karl Roves strategies to buy a permanent majority with big spending may have created a permanent majority for Democrats.
To understand if government now has enough to cover basic services, we should consider increases under Bush. Yes, we fought two wars. So lets examine only non-defense Departments, ignoring the Social Security Administration.
Spending in FY 2013 will be larger than in FY 2000 as follows. Remember: This is repeating each and every year.
$1.5 billion every year (53% increase) for Congress
$12.6 billion every year (105% increase) for international assistance programs
$47 billion every year (113% increase) for the Dept. of Transportation
$31.2 billion every year (93% increase) for the Dept. of Education
$34.5 billion every year (71% increase) at the Office of Personnel Management
$2.8 billion every year (71% increase) for the Judicial Branch
$139 billion every year (85% increase) for the Dept. of Agriculture
$59.6 billion every year (187% increase) for the U.S Department of Labor
$464 billion every year (121% increase) for the Dept. of Energy
$16 billion every year (95% increase) for the U.S Department of Justice
$10.8 billion every year (35% increase) for the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development
$22 billion every year (329% increase) for the Dept. of State
$4 billion every year (50% increase) for the Dept. of the Interior
$98.4 billion every year (25% increase) for the Dept. of the Treasury
$819 million every year (11% increase) for the Environmental Protection Agency
$2.6 billion every year (19% increase) for N.A.S.A.
$3.3 billion every year (95% increase) for the National Science Foundation
And, if you don’t like it, the govt will protect this spending increase with its expenditures on billions of hollow points, thousands of MRAPs and thousands of AR-15s.
Why isn’t the budget for Homeland Insecurity mentioned?
Oh by the way, this ignores the fact that the Department of Homeland Security was created by carving out many major units from other Departments. So the overspending is even worse if you remember that those Departments were relieved of many major responsibilities transferred to Homeland Security.
They put thousands of illegal criminals out on our streets to punish us for our disobedience.
They want our money, but by golly don't you even suggest taking away their fine wines, caviar, Delmonico steaks, and luxurious vacations!!
BTW, where are the Oboma girls going for spring break this year? Aruba? Bahamas? Last year the teens enjoyed a relaxing million dollar get away in Mexico.
(It's good to live off other peoples money.)
I didn’t include Homeland Security because it was newly created so it doesn’t offer a good picture of the massive increases in overall spending.
Buy a permanent majority = Massive debt
But who’s counting anyway. They just pass the debt on to us.
they lost departments but didn’t lose the money that budgeted these departments ? I’m shocked !
Like the Dept. of Ed allowing an opt-out of no child left behind, but they still get to keep the NCLB money...
I just assume that everything the gov tells us is a lie.
10% cut in spending....?... LoL..IN YOUR DREAMS....
Whoever quotes that figure is lieing to you...
Put their hand in your pocket and are looking for something “WARM” to touch.....
While looking for your wallet..
