So, if you support the use of drones against US citizens, how did you feel about Clinton using a sniper to Randy Weaver’s family when he failed to show up for a court date? Or, when Clinton sent the ATF to burn down the Branch Davidian compound in WACO, instead of simply arresting David Koresh while he was out jogging? Did that meet with your approval, too? It’s basically the same thing.

Imagine if the president could send a sniper to kill anyone’s family every time someone missed a court date. This was before any trial or conviction.

Ultimately we as a country need to figure out how to end war. We've had the war in Afghanistan for 12 years now. The war basically has authorized a worldwide war. This is Rand Paul's position.

What part of that is not correct?

It's the position of anti-war protesters in 2002.

Their position, a year before the war started, was that we were there for 12 years? I think someone here isn't too damn bright and they're sucking in idiots who can't think for themselves.

Where is everyone?

Same question could be applied to the last presidential election? Why did conservative Patriots allow Obama 4 more years to dismantle this once great country?

We will never find perfection. Reagan wasn’t perfect. However, if we remain constantly acrimonious and divided we will continue to fail to rein in the leftist/progressiove/socialists.

In fact, Ted Cruz gave a great speech about doing the right thing even if it means opposing your own party.

Precisely what Churchill did in 1934, when he was almost tossed from the Conservative Party for suggesting that Hitler was a madman.

Be specific: was it 1.) my statement that irritates you; 2.) that the statement, IYHO, is true, or 3.) something else? If it is # 3, then what is it?

” - - - where do we draw the line - - - “

The “Line” is the definition of a word or Principle.

For example, if one defines a Conservative as on who conserves, then we look to who is above that line.

Being human, there are many examples from each of the 4 men that you mentioned that fall short of Conserving anything on a number of topics.

On the topic of asking a tyrant to give his word that he will not use his tyrannical power to snuff out the life of an American on American soil without a trial by his/her peers, I would give Rand a 8 out of 10; “The Rube” a zero out of 10; Mr. GOP Elite McCain a minus 10, since he has proven to be a Royalist at heart; and an unknown for Romney, as I need more facts from his speeches and actions to determine where he stands on tyranny.

A common mistake is to choose a man, and then assign virtues or flaws to him, with the usual result being that definitions of the same words and Principles differ widely from supporter to supporter.

Thus, I say: define first, agree on the definition, and THEN measure the man by that standard.

” - - - “Reagan said that conservatism is a three legged stool. Social, fiscal and national defense. Either we have all three. Or we have nothing.” - Daniel Greenfield - - - “

Here is this dufuss, Danny-Boy Greenfield, wrapping himself in the hallowed FLAG OF REAGAN in an attempt to turn a wobbly stool, (each of the legs might be of a different length, the length of the legs could change from year to year, etc), into an either/or, black or white, two dimensional, Liberal Agenda Media coin flip game!

Reagan was a great President, and communicated ideas well through use of verbal images of common object, but the specific, legal written definition trumps ALL.

If it is agreed that “Conservatism” is a pattern of behavior by someone who conserves, then hoist the Lantern and bring in any who have actually conserved.

BTW, just bring in the ones who have EVER Conserved ANYTHING, and hopefully more than one will be found in the US Congress - - - .

BTW, BTW, no luck? Maybe bring in those who knew of somebody who conserved - - - .

BTW, BTW, BTW, still no luck? Wow! Surely there must be ONE!?

Fake Republican Pig Rand Paul — see, that works too.

He’s a RINO, and a CINO.

Rand Paul is a political genius. He sees that it is almost impossible to reconcile New Conservatism and traditional values with libertarianism, so he has excised the conservative part, kept the libertarian of course, and reached out to what the libertarians and the Left have in common to form a new consensus.

He wants to be president.

He has harnessed the power of C-SPAN at a very opportune moment and captured the deep yearning of the young isolationist American: to be as free as possible and to have peace with the rest of the world. Also, he has a likable manner, a humble way of speaking that is enormously appealing.

Unfortunately, his foreign policy will never bring peace, as we have seen in our lifetimes if we are old enough and should know by now.

Beware.

I think what most conservatives like about Rand Paul is that he is not afraid to stand up to obama.

” - - - the Liberal Agenda Media chooses to oppose all good done and promote ANY bad done by that same Republican Politician; - - - “

The above statement by me from this thread could be restated as “No good deed goes unpunished.”

The Liberal Agenda Media and Left Wing GOP Elite Pigs McCain and Graham have the same goal: Any Republican Elephant that rises up out of the swarming GOP Elite Pig herd must be swiftly brought to his/her knees so that the GOP Elite Pigs can continue to be the loyal rubber stamps for the Democrat Jackasses.

The return to Republican Principles is terrifying to the GOP Elite, and they will fight any attempt to restore dignity to the Republican National Committee, as McCain and Graham so aptly proved last week on the US Senate floor.

Ruby Ridge occurred during George H.W. Bush's administration. It's a common mistake to attribute it to Clinton's goons.

Not a dime’s worth of difference between the Clintons and the Bushes, and it looks like in 2016 there will be another Bush vs Clinton false choice.
