I wish I could share your optimism, but with what I’ve seen from the Obama media in the last 4 years, count me as skeptical.
But it is refreshing to see optimism, even if I don’t buy it yet. :)
Yet, Plouff is wrong on one fact. If Woodward was ever liberal, it was the old style liberalism, not this radical stuff we see today.
At least someone has a SPINE for a change.
This group has simply overplayed their hand in all this, nothing bad will happen.
I sort of agree with Plouffe that Woodward is a has been, because I think Woody is just a slo-mo mentally challenged writer who along with Bernstein stumbled into a story that all-the-liberal-powers-that-be egged on in DC at the time and brought down a sitting President. My opinion of Plouffe? Well, I’d say he’s a poofter even though he’s married.
Regardless, the establishment media would be forced to throw away their ICON of rebellion and accountability against the evil (Republican) powers-that-be.
An interesting conundrum of ideals. On the one hand, totally discredit their revisionist history wrt Nixon (and everything he wrote on Reagan and Bush(s), or discredit their “Magic Negro” [term originated by the LA Times] Obama.
In any case, we are about to find out whether the establishment liberal Media will rally behind Woody, or will they continue on as Mr. Obama’s prison b!tch where they’re certain to spend the majority of their time on their knees doing things they really don’t like.
I'll never forget the Bill Casey crap. He claimed Bill Casey took him into his confidence on his death bed. His wife and daughter said it never happened. That one of them was always in the room with Casey during his final days in the hospital.
Why he's decided to go after Obama, I don't know. Maybe he senses that Obama is finally vulnerable and the first journalists to start printing the truth will be extolled as heroes for telling the truth. Who knows. He isn't trustworthy, but it's nice to see someone from the left finally challenging some of the lies Obama tells.
But with another WH staffer going all pit bull on twitter it will be interesting to see if Woodward lets it slide or doubles down.
It's like watching Hitler and Stalin fight each other. It's not important who wins, only that they destroy each other so much that it's pyrrhic.
Could it not be because despite what Plouffe says, Woodward has what Plouffe DOES NOT HAVE as let’s just say is a SPINE?

My Wife and I were kicking this around and she believes that the move is one of self interest and not journalistic integrity.
Going along with the pack, ignoring the truth is killing them(media) financially and will not provide the personal glory they crave.
They need to turn to get a head.
If this is true, there will be more.
Faced with the decision to stand up for an investigative “journalist” or to defend their fractionally-black socialist messiah I expect American leftists will conclude there is plenty of room under that bus for Woodward and any other heretic who dares stray from the tenets of their secular religion.
Well...could be...regardless, Plouffe and Axelrod are a curious pair....one looking like a 50s porno film actor and the other just an ideological whore.
I have been saying since the beginning of this nightmare that this will end when the “right people” have enough of this Fraud.
It cannot come soon enough.
Remember, Richard Nixon was re-elected and not long after he entered Watergate. Benghazigate and others? We shall see.
