You and these people who you refer to are completely uneducated. Senator McCarthy was attempting to remove communists from the Army. I have never seen a single quote in which he referred to communists in Hollywood. The communists in Hollywood issue was tackled by HUAC - the House Un-American Activities Committee. McCarthy was a Senator. Uneducated U.S. citizens don't even know the difference between Senators and Representatives.
The writer of this piece is just plain wrong. Senator Joseph McCarthy did his country a great disservice. He allowed his personal issues, namely alcoholism, to protect communists in the United States, whether that was his attention, or not. (McCarthy was practically an adjunct of the Kennedy family. He would not aide the campaign of anyone running against a Kennedy. The Kennedys greatly aided his career. JFK never once criticized McCarthy, and would angrily leave any event where he was criticized. RFK’s oldest daughter, Kathleen Kennedy, is Mccarthy’s God daughter.
Nope-—you are wrong and haven’t read “Blacklisted” like this author. I have. She isn’t confusing the House and Hollywood with the Senate.
Every person McCarthy “accused” was a Communist—a Soviet agent. He never accused anyone he didn’t have solid evidence on-—and the later release of papers from the Soviet Union proved this to be true-—it is why “Blacklisted” was even written—solid proof.
There were Communists that McCarthy did NOT name and didn’t know about like the ones controlling the committee forcing him to testify—leading the committees, to force McCarthy to name names and to make him look stupid and like a fool and hater. Then they blasted it out in the press to discredit this WWII hero. All he was interested in doing was getting these people OUT of the positions of power. They were evil, trying to destroy us from within and use our money to advance their positions in China and Yugoslavia and worse, etc. He loved his country and understood how insidious and evil Communism is.
It was the Communist plan to destroy McCarthy—to shut him up (since they controlled the most important newspapers of the time they were safe). They had the power of the press to shape mass perceptions-—just like they did with the Vietnam War and the Great Society.
They planted lies in the newspapers about McCarthy-—and all the small independent newspapers repeated the lies over and over and over (much like the press has always done and still does today). Solzhenitsyn stated how our press in the USA was the same as Stalins-—we just “think” it is free. (1978 speech at Harvard.)
Influential Communist journalists working undercover for US newspapers controlled the slant on all major stories, since the early 1900’s. They controlled the perceptions of the masses to force a “progressive” worldview and destroy Christianity and Capitalism—glorifying that sodomite and Fabian Socialist John Maynard Keynes.
True, the Catholic McCarthy’s drinking made it easier to vilify him, cuz he was like all men-—flawed (which Communists ALWAYS use to destroy a person with and discredit them. They can do it to anyone—even a Ted Cruz because the press is powerful.) Back then-—people were convinced America had a Free press with “Truth”—a perpetrated lie by the Communists-—they would compare our press to evil Germany’s....Ha-—Ours was/is worse than Leni Riefenstahl’s production and most people still do not no how corrupt our “free” press (MSM) actually is even today. It dupes most people as it did in McCarthy’s time. It shapes Marxist worldview in our ignorant people who don’t read and understand history.
Tailgunner Joe sincerely loved his country and was a talented lawyer and dangerous to the Communists because he was a fearless attack dog and had charisma. But the Communists were able to make him look like a pathetic drunk. They drove him to his death—made everyone hate him.
He wouldn’t be bought off like so many other people, so they had to literally destroy him—as they do anyone who will expose them-—people who have the Truth. The will kill you without blinking-—even little children in inhumane ways—they are exceedingly evil as Patton knew (and was killed).
Kennedy brothers were killed by the Communists, also, because they loved their country and wasn’t willing to sell it out to the Communists (one worlders). They knew the loyalty of McCarthy for American ideals-—that is why they loved him. BTW, both Kennedy would be right of Reagan if they were alive today. They would have loathed Ted Kennedy’s thinking.
And to recall that war hero Eisenhower was part of the unwitting tools/fools that denigrated McCarthy. However, I want to go back to your comment/reference as to the early 1900s. Especially I want to go to the years of Wilson when he brought over from Europe a lacky of the Rothchilds named Warberg(?) to start up the fake USA bank called the Federal Reserve. It is a matter of records that the Rothchilds funded the overthrow of Czar of Russia to install the communist political troika as a revenge act. This is the same family of bankers that gave seed money to people like Soros and other USA industrialists. There is a long history of how the international bankers were in and out as to being the actual bank(s) for USA financing. They care not as to political power only financial power. The maze of possible if not probable involvements go back from Kennedy to Garfield to Jackson and the first bank of the colonies. It is interesting that this year closes out the deal made by Wilson and Congress to turn over the banking power of the USA to internationalists in 1913. With present economic conditions it will be very interesting to see how Obama and the congress handle the banking situation.

I could swear that’s what I was talking about in my post - ill-informed people who thought McCarthy had tried to get Hollywood types blacklisted - but by the way, McCarthy and his committee (for which RFK was a lead counsel) investigated much more than communists in the Army, including Red agent Boris Morros, a Paramount movie producer from Hollywood, and his double-agent handler Jack Soble (see Weinstein and Vassiliev: “The Haunted Wood”) - anyhow the prof who supervised my doctoral dissertation a few years back will be interested to hear how completely uneducated I am......
