Red Flag News has the story on what this is all about. While I'm trying to make fun of it, it frankly is quite frightening what DHS is doing to our vets (and all of us by extension).
I hate to tell you this started under Bush! They are using the Brady Handgun Control Act of 1993 as the basis of this.
It is my understanding that this is being misrepresented.

The catch is, there are real life consequences for claiming that “easy money” for your “disability”.
Besides clogging up the minimal mental health programs for real PTSD veterans, and fraudulently soaking up the funds allocated for them, you will also suffer the social downsides of the designation of real PTSD veterans.
And please don’t blame this crap on Bush!
This type of corrupt veteran scam has been ongoing for REMFs since VietNam!

A bigger issue and a real one at that has always been the Lautenberg domestic violence gun ban. Thats real stuff.

Red Flag or Red Reef....What ever its called is where this nonsence is coming from. If you go to the site you will find the letter, its 3 or 4 pages in a thumbnail size, really hard to read....I had to save it on my computer and then enlarge it to read it and its still hard because it loses resulation.
First off its a VA chain letter so it gets send to many vets, evedently this letter goes out to vets when they cannot manage their own benifet payments, they, the vet has to have a fiducary recive their benefitment payment and administer the payment for the care of the indivual...And it basicly explains how this may affect them, one of which is some degree affecting their 2nd amendment rights. These poor guys in this state have bigger issues that worrying about applying for a CCW or buying a new piece. It is being construded by people that folks “score well” on a PTSD assessment are then being removed of 2nd amendment rights by the VA and its Obama behind it.
As a vet I dont want any of my brothers fearing this, it would be as if I lost my pilots license because the VA sent the FAA a medical record where I was knocked out for 20 minutes because our president hates vets that are pilots. Lets watch this situation and moniter it, most of this stuff at this point seems like miss information. We have wooden teeth republicans, powered whigs amongst us that have knee jerk reactions, that try to whip us up with abortion and firearms issues....These arnt the reasons we Republicans exist, we are the party of industry and free capital, we want to do business and keep goverment out of our lives as much as possable.
Lastly I might have said something about the Lautenberg act, that has always to my knowalge been the real issue with our 2nd admendment rights, slap your wife and tell the cops you did it because she cheated on you and stole your money and really lose your gun rights.
We as consertives need stop being distracted by fake issues there are enough real ones.
