President Barack Obama and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal have much in common.

While Obama is a liberal Democrat and Jindal is a Republican, both of these men are relatively young and supposedly intelligent. They are minorities who graduated from Ivy League schools and spent most of their careers in government.

Today, a new Voter/Consumer Research poll was released. It shockingly finds Jindal with only a 49% approval rating, his lowest of all time. This level is below other statewide elected officials like U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA). The poll also found that 47% of respondents believe the state is headed in the wrong direction, while only 38% believe it is on the right track

Was the poll conducted in New Orleans alone?

Jindal just proposed to do away with the state's income tax.

Article seems to be a blog withg it’s own point of view. For example regarding Jindal’s reelection with 66% of the vote:

“The Governor was victorious because he amassed a giant war chest from his constant fundraising and was able to scare off major opponents. Nevertheless, 34% of the people voted against Jindal, who faced competitors that cumulatively spent less than $25,000 on the campaign.”

Jindel may have been fiscally conservative for LA, but it may start to end there, as he becomes more full of himself.

Transforming the R’s into more severe moderates, to win despite the cost, is not a really principled stand. The low info voter rules no

w, therefore selling our soul seems to be mandatory.

The guys and gals want to primarily attain power or retain it, first, before applying common sense and teaching it. Like Dr. Ben Carson, just for example. The intellegent can generally emerge and get the job done.

Carson seems to be one of those.

Yes, it depends on whom you ask and what their agenda is. I know several people in IL from LA, both white and Black including extremely conservative Black, all in the private sector. For each of them, Jindal’s failure to distance himself from the David Duke types is a critical factor.

David Duke types are big government types who apparently wanted to use that power to take guns away from law abiding Black professionals. This defined the enemy for my 2A friends.

Hussein, yes. Bobby, no.

I doubt this poll seriously reflect any nationwide attitudes. Most people (outside of LA and conservatives) don’t even know who Jindal is. Knowing who is the reigning ‘American Idol’ is far more important that losing your blood-bought freedoms or understanding what is really going on. Of course, watching TV is going to do that to ya.

Jindal had his education funded by what is now a slightly left liberal group, but still one with emphasis on excellence and achievement. Obama’s funding came from the far right, Saudi Prince Whalid bin-Talal, who certainly expected something for his patronage. Jindal had an excellent academic record. Those two or three who claim to have known Obama as a student described Obama as disinterested, and at best a mediocre student, whose little writing in evidence is unworthy of an English 1A student.

What they have in common is that neither was born to parents who were both citizen of this country. Neither is eligible to be president, but Jindal has never claimed that he was. Obama has never claimed to be a Natural Born Citizen, but has explained that he doesn't beleive the current Constitution is relevant. (The one document attesting to his eligibility in Arizona did not specify natural born citizenship.)

Some still think the Constitution has meaning. Article II still survives, unchanged, and specifies a natural born citizen for president. The low-information voter, including all of state-run media, didn't know that the Constitution doesn't contain definitions, depending upon the common language and common law of the framers to preserve orignial meanings.
