Posted on 02/05/2013 12:35:02 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet
Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman spoke at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C. last week. During the Q&A session following the lecture, an audience member asked him about the rising national debt.
Earlier in the evening, Krugman had already vocalized his satisfaction at President Obamas apparent lack of concern over the exploding cumulative deficit. However, in a moment of brutal honesty, the esteemed Princeton professor revealed his long term prognosis. According to the professor,
"Eventually we do have a problem. That the population is getting older, health care costs are rising
there is this question of how were going to pay for the programs. The year 2025, the year 2030, something is going to have to give
. Were going to need more revenue
Surely it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well.. We wont be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes
on the middle class, maybe a value added tax
And were also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version
which I shouldnt even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this...."

The Death Panels are a fundamental to the deficit plan.
Every year they can saw off the life expectancy is a real boost for SocSec and Medicare.
Any society that kills off their citizens needs to be abandoned. There is a point where individuals can decide not to pursue additional medical care, but that is between them, their family, and their doctor. Government has no place in that decision.
Well, evil b@stard Krugman got his wish. A hurricane to hit the east coast to “stimulate the economy”. Howz that working out Krugman, you sick piece of excrement.
These F’n Obama supporters won’t believe it until it happens to them.
Do we all get to vote on the value of the life of an economist who works for New York Times?
But it's okay though! The GOP drove out that Nut Sarah Palin for saying this! I am sure the Democrats will do the for "Hail Ants" Krugman.
Someone needs to point out to Dr. Dumbguy that most states already have sales taxes.
Ultimately, it comes down to issues of philosophy and spirituality. Truly. Who decides what is and what is not worth spending money on? Should we spend more on welfare, but less on the elderly? Is it OK for the government to spend money saving GM from bankruptcy, but not OK to give grandpa a shot at chemo? (one could argue that the chances of success of some chemotherapies are probably better than the odds of GM becoming a vibrant company again anytime in the near future).
I wouldn’t mind seeing Krugman Death Paneled first..so he is admitting what we already knew and what the media had been saying was a total lie by Sarah Palin who turned out to be right..AGAIN..but the GOP never defended her(What else is knew) even though she was 100 percent right on the money..she saw this coming
I don't want what they think I will want.

Marian Shields Robinson, mother of former First Lady, Michelle Robinson Obama, died yesterday. In otherwise excellent health, an autopsy determined that the cause of death was a relatively simple to repair coronary artery blockage. She was 80 years old.
Unfortunately, under the 2010 Universal Health Care Act, passed in the last year of the truncated Obama Administration, the surgery necessary to clear the fatal blockage had originally been ruled by the the late Dr. Jack Kevorkian, first head of the first Federal Death Panel, as prohibited on patients over 60 years of age. That ruling has been upheld by the Obama dominated appointee laden SCOTUS.
The impeached Barack Obama could not be reached for comment. On death row at the Colorado Super-Max prison, he is awaiting execution for treason against the Constitution and the people of the United States and humanity.
The Republican breakaway New Freedom Party, which began winning congressional seats in the 2010 election and completed its sweep of conventional Republicans and Democrats from office in the 2016 election, has pledged to eliminate what President Palin called these unfortunate and unnecessary deaths of our older citizens who have, after all, done much to build this nation. She went on to say Of course, we all die. But this foolishly enacted legislation is consigning countless millions of otherwise healthy, capable, often wisdom-laden loved parents and grandparents to early graves for simply corrected problems. Its just morally wrong.
Due to the urgency of the need, Senate Majority Leader Rand Paul (NFP, KY) has pledged to hold as many all-night sessions, 24/7 necessary to repeal the Universal Health Care Act. Once finished, he promised to get on with the public executions for treason of 58 Obama officials being demanded by millions of irate taxpayers. Wed have done this sooner but due to demand from other Western nations, the manufacturer of the Acme 2 Position Super-Deluxe Slice-O-Matic guillotine has a one year backlog. Paul said the area in front of the Capitol has been ready for the device for 6 months.
When reached by phone for comment, former First Lady Michelle Obama, muttered a few unprintable scatological and profane terms and something about no longer being proud of this crappy country not that I ever was.
Before hanging up, she blurted that her mother died because those honky idiots Reid and Pelosi screwed up and forgot to insert the promised exemptions for us, the members of the ruling class and their families, from the legislation.
Arrangements are pending but those close to the family have hinted that Mrs. Robinson will be taken to Kenya for burial. Mrs. Obama has declared that she and her daughters will remain in Kenya — eventually found to be the actual birthplace of the disgraced former usurper president — and never return to the United States.

ROFLMAO yeah, like THAT would ever happen to a member of Dear Leaders entourage!!
This should be reported as “Krugman supports ‘Death Penalty’”.
That is, a single violent felon in prison for twenty years may cost the taxpayer between one and two million dollars for their incarceration.
The average cost for an elderly person in the last five years of their life? About $40,000.
This means that for every single violent criminal who is executed shortly after conviction, it saves enough money to pay for the health care of between 25 and 50 elderly people.
About 60% of criminals in state prisons are there for violent offenses out of the more than 2 million in prison. Of those violent offenders, if only 10% are for crimes violent enough to execute, that is still some 120,000.
And 120,000 times 25 equals 3,000,000. Times 50 is 6,000,000.
Granted there are about 72,000,000 Baby Boomers, but not all of them will need their “last five years of healthcare” all at once.
So just by not messing around with endless appeals, if we all agree that violent criminals should be executed within one year after conviction and sentencing, we will save enough money to *not* kill between 3 and 6 million old people each year.
Which sounds like a great idea.
Has krugman said anything even vaguely rational or intelligent since his boy (gore) lost out?
I will celebrate Frank Lautenberg's death. Nancy Pelosi's. Dianne Feinsteins.
And Krugman. Krugman is truly evil. When he dies, the world will be a slightly sunnier place.
You Mean Like THIS!?!?
The Obsolete Man
Lols! I got an LOR when I was in Air Force Tech School because I was.......opinionated, when I heard the news of his death.
Lets just say "I would Dance on his Grave" comes to mind and making allusions of things "Growing like tumors on Ted Kennedy's Grave" does also.
You can rest assured that certain groups will not be subject to deat panel rulings, i.e. blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and members of Magian religions. To put it another way only people of Euroamerican Christian ancestry will be required to die.
Lead the way, Paul.
You know this will be implemented gradually. Get the low information 0bama lemmings to accept "Dr assisted suicide". Get everyone convinced that it's better for the old people anyway. Finally it becomes a law because of severe costs.
The dirty little secret is that the "elites" cheering this on, the Krugmans, the 0bamas , the Kennedys, the Clintons et al. will not be subjected to this. They'll be a 2 tiered medical system, one for all those who are connected and have some means, and the other for the rest of us. It happens in the UK and Canada and it's coming here.
He advocates death panels in a synagogue...talking to Jews?
Let Krugman be the first to march willingly into the gas chamber, to be refused care that would save his life.
Before too long, even young people who have recurring heart problems, cancer, etc, will be sent down the path of pallative non-care much like Britain. What can now prolong life for even serious illness will only be given in the future to the rich and politician classes who have exempted themselves from the obamination.
They are all National Socialist Democrats after the German model.
FUBO & FAD
Of course she was right.
Each day we move closer and closer to a 1776 moment.
FUBO & FAD
She was right, but theyll never admit that.
People need to remember that sales taxes don’t have to peak at 100 percent.
Paul Krugman... had already vocalized his satisfaction at President Obamas apparent lack of concern over the exploding cumulative deficit. However, in a moment of brutal honesty, the esteemed Princeton professor revealed his long term prognosis.IOW, to cut the deficit, we need more spending overall and more taxes, but less spending on such open-ended things as health care for those who have been paying for it the longest.
