ObamaCare guarantees "personal information" will CEASE to be personal. Yep, gun ownership info too

Being a good, Democrat-run state, Minnesota has decided to build an ObamaCare exchange, turning all healthcare rights and choices of its citizens over to the tender mercies of federal death panels and untrained, IT technicians in Washington, DC.

But if anything, that’s the GOOD news for unsuspecting Minnesotans! For all information currently considered “personal” will, at the stroke of a keyboard, become known to countless bureaucracies throughout the State and federal governments.

As the Citizen’s Council for Health Freedom explains it:

“Buried in the text of the Minnesota Obamacare Exchange bill (MNHIX) [is] a tiny but controversial section allowing free-flow sharing of all data the government has on you. It also grants them access to the data “other entities” have on you. There is no limit to...

I have been saying for some time that all information about politicians including their wife, children and parents is fair game. This includes where they live, where they work, where they go to school. If no one needs guns because the police are just a phone call away let’s see how they feel knowing that all information is available about them to anyone that is interested.

They have to do a lot of digging to document any “ownership” data.

I’m not telling my Doc anything.

Just because the records and the traceability potential exists, doesn’t mean they know where to start.

If they start rummaging through dealers paperwork, on a regular and widespread basis, we’ll know about it.

I know we’ve heard of occurrances, but I don’t see evidence that it is common.

The state's government exchange, which will cost $55 million - $64 million a year, is estimated to only enroll 1.2 million of more than 5 million Minnesotans. The operating costs include the costs of: · the government's Minnesota exchange website · maintaining intrusive 24/7 Internet connections with the federal government (the DATA exchange) · manning a government call center · paying 70+ state employees, and · compensating the Exchange Board of 7 political appointees.

Section 7 of House File 5 reads: Sec. 7. [62V.06] DATA. (a) The definitions in section 13.02 apply to this section. (b) Government data of the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace on individuals, employees of employers, and employers using the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace are private data on individuals or nonpublic data. The Minnesota Insurance Marketplace may share not public data with state and federal agencies and other entities if the exchange of the data is reasonably necessary to carry out the functions of the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace.

State agencies shall share not public data with the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace if the exchange of the data is reasonably necessary to carry out the functions of the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace. Notwithstanding the provisions governing summary data in sections 13.02, subdivision 19, and 13.05, subdivision 7, the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace may derive summary data from nonpublic data under this section.
