The problem with this kind of stuff is it ignores certain basic implications.
1 - if this handful runs the world why does so much unexpected stuff happen
2 - if this handful was smart enough to take over the world why are they so dumb in how they now control it, constantly allowing bad things to happen. This is especially obvious in this recession, a fat comfortable populace is much easier to control, why allow recessions
3 - and this is the biggest one, if all this is true what can we do about it, and since the answer to that is so obviously nothing why are people wasting effort on it

Just because you lost you job or your home doesn’t mean the wealthy folks are going to lose theirs. What you consider as a bad thing doesn’t affect their life, does it?
