When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

Posted By Jim Karger On August 13, 2012

In Featured,international living,Legislation,The Daily Reckoning

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.

And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.

Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, ..

When they take the guns, it's because they're planning on killing you anyway.

The choice is to die in a pool of your own blood on the streets, or starve to death in one of their camps or on one of their marches.

One thing to keep in mind: there are more of us than there are of them.

When and if they ever tried to round up and confiscate guns and ammo, they will be rounding up people too.

When the left tells you they will exterminate 25 million people that can’t be reeducated you better believe them.

I think the author is sorely mistaken. Many people are not stupid. Far from it. After the first few shootouts, smart people with guns will get to work. The tyranists will not be safe anywhere. Neither will their homes and family.

Mr. Karger is under the impression that I’ll be quietly sitting in my livingroom watching American Idol when I come out guns a-blazing.

Us “cold, dead handers” will, by necessity, take more of them with us in much the same way the minutemen fought for their freedom.

Also, Mr. Karger is an “enemy of and to the Constitution” and should be held before the public as such. (Conservatives really do need to be bold and vocal about pointing out such “enemies of the Constitution”)

King George thought the same way. Fortunately there were enough brave patriots to stand up for freedom. Hell, I’m 60 years old. I don’t want to live forever.

How Will They Confiscate Your Guns?
by John A. Sutter
in California

For decades I have heard gun owners claim that the government would never be able to confiscate our firearms because the government would lose too many men. The implication being, of course, that gun owners would actively resist confiscation, even to the point of shooting back. But I believe this thinking is outdated and doesn’t align very well with reality. But before you tell me how big your honor guard in Hell will be when that day comes, let’s think about how the government could really do it.

Suppose, for the sake of argument, the government bans all civilian possession of firearms at the end of this month. Congress passes a total ban and the President cuts his own re-election throat by signing it. Gun owners get some grace period to turn them in, even beyond the deadline, without being charged with a crime. If we use Australia and Britain as examples there will still be a significant number of firearms that are not turned in. Some estimates put the Australian turn-in at less than 25% and the British faired only about 28%. But Australians and the British have long been used to obeying almost every gun control law. Not so the Americans. When laws are passed that we don’t like, we bite. We scratch. We vote. So here we sit after the guns have been collected and the amnesties have run out. Now what? .

Not a very imaginative article... In the smallest state in the union I could hide a dozen rifles and 10,000 rounds of ammo so they’d never be found other than by me.

The author is a clown who just doesn't get it! he's the type of sap with no core convictions. Not all of us believe that there's nothing worth dying for. My liberty is worth my life. I'd rather fight than surrender my liberty to any government. The only reason that the government wants to take guns in the first place is so that we won't be able to fight back later.

But what of your family? What about your friends? Would you be willing to accept the loss of their lives too for your freedom?

And- even if you would be, how about the rest of the gun-owning population? Would they be willing to accept death before disarmament?

If each person being rounded up for extermination manages to kill one jackboot or a person directing the jackboots, the process will grind to a halt in a matter of days.

I'm single. I live alone. My kids are grown and gone. I've met my grandkids, at least.

I don't intend to sit at home waiting for a 'knock on the door'.

I will not surrender my firearms. Period.

Everybody dies sometime.

As an old Force Recon friend (him, not me) told me many years ago, "You gotta die from something."

I concluded a good while ago that the tyrants seizing control of America are determined to make sure it won't be from old age.

That makes it sound like being a slave to the state is somehow "better" than being dead ... which is cowardice. More than half a million people died fighting in the Civil War. Having dealt with slavery themselves, they knew "freedom" was worth risk of death. Better to be face down in a pool of blood fighting for freedom than enslaved. Are we truly so willing to hold our arms at the ready for shackling? I am not.
