Barack Obama is perhaps the only modern president who has had the burden of swatting away comparisons between his own soaring rhetoric and that of our 16th president. You may recall that, in the wake of the Newtown massacre, Pulitzer Prize–winning reporter David Maraniss gushed over the president’s remarks, writing, “People will long remember what Barack Obama said in Newtown,” and calling the speech “[Obama's] Gettysburg address.”

Today, thanks to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, it took less than five minutes for the comparison to be drawn between President Obama’s second inaugural address and, well, all manner of things Lincoln. “It reminds me of another second inaugural, Lincoln’s, so much of Lincoln in that speech, from the Gettysburg Address to the second inaugural itself,” Matthews said...

I have always championed the theory that some people exist without what we would call an immortal soul. Whether they were born without it, knowingly sacrificed it for some temporary carnal satisfaction, or let it rot away from within one bit at a time, they don't have one. If anything obstructs a liberal, he rids himself of it’s burden. Why would a soul be any different? Having a soul implies having a conscience. And having a conscience implies something greater than one’s self/Id/Ego to be accountable to.

Thank you, Norm. You just presented a strong piece of theoretical evidence to support one potential facet of my hypothesis. One way or the other, the 'progressive' elites are spiritually barren. We can debate the why's and wherefore's after they've been vanquished from the continent.

And none of them did. Still don’t. Thus Obama descended to earth in fulfillment of their ‘prayers’. And Manson proved prophetic.
