LAS VEGAS — The United States appears to be experiencing a record run on military-style assault weapons, high-capacity magazines and some kinds of ammunition as buyers deluge stores in search of guns and bullets they fear will be banned by the Obama administration, according to firearms industry executives and market analysts.

Even allowing for spikes in gun sales that follow every mass killing in the United States and attendant political debates about gun control, industry executives said the surge seems unprecedented.

And it has emptied shelves of the kind of semiautomatic rifle that was used to kill 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., last month, the deaths that sparked President Obama’s proposal for tougher gun laws.

In some areas, a buyer walking into a gun store now will have to wait up to a year to buy a military-style assault weapon. The prices of available semiautomatics have doubled as buyers bid up the dwindling supply, and stocks of Glock handguns are also low...

“The United States appears to be experiencing a record run on military-style assault weapons, high-capacity magazines...”

Really? REALLY? Who doesn’t know this? Oh yeah, low-information voters.

I was in the process of evaluating the best AK-47 to buy, but I’ll have to put that on hold for now.

Obama is the number one gun salesman in the history of the world and he didn’t even get to collect comissions.

We’re going to stop this assault weapon ban and all they’re going to have to show for their efforts will be the largest increase in firearms sales in American history and a loss of senate and house seats. and it will be a glorious day for America.

Gun control debate may be driving higher sales

In other news, a government-sponsored study from the University of Chicago indicates that there may be a "strong probability" that bears defecate in forested areas.

However, Dr. Ursula Upstrong, lead researcher at the government's Centers for Defeces Control, urged caution in interpreting the study's results. "While we have found a strong correlation between bear manure in forested locations and active, breeding bear populations nearby, we still aren't 100% what this correlation means," she explained. "More research and government grants will be necessary."

But back to our gun tale.

In some areas, a buyer walking into a gun store now will have to wait up to a year to buy a military-style assault weapon.

Success! The Obama Administration has made it impossible to buy "assault weapons" in America!

Kudos and congratulations.

MAY BE driving higher sales? There were 2 million new gun sales in November 2012 and 2,7 million in December 2012. In two months, American gun buyers could have totally reequipped the active duty armies of mainland China and India [2.4 million] plus there’d be 300,000 new guns left over.

Since Dear leader took office in January 2009, there have been 67 million new guns sold and the largest numbers were in the last two months of 2012! That sounds like higher gun sales to me.

Semi auto rifle owners are Ron Paul voters, blue collar Dem voters and GOP conservative voters. If all three unite on election day, Dems can lose tons of seats in Senate and Congress. GOP should be harping this on Ron Paul supporters and Blue Collar Dems. Don’t screw up this opportunity by defending free trade and Wall Street bankers. If more moderate Dems lose their seats, the balance of power in Congress and Senate can shift to nullify Obama. 2014 is around the corner.

Like Rush said the other day, libs cannot believe that their rhetoric has not caused people to volentarily turn in their weapons but has actually caused a gun buy spike. They just don’t get it.

Also, it took TWO morons to write the cutting edge piece?!.....wow

And I’ll bet that most people haven’t got their tax returns yet. There will be more purchased as they come in. And I’ll bet most of the folks buying are on a budget that is already strained a little from the economy. And, I bet these people didn’t buy these arms so they could lay them down at Zero’s feet. Some, of course would, but I’ll bet on there still being a lot of patriots out there. Or enough to do the job coming up.
