It's time patriots declare Victory in the 2nd Amendment war

Though it’s doubtful anyone will hear much about it, neither lawmakers, judges or even a president has the constitutional authority to infringe upon the inalienable right of the American people to keep and bear arms.

One hundred thirty eight years ago, the Supreme Court wrote that the right to keep and bear arms “…is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence.” (1)

The case was the United States v Cruikshank and the Court made it clear that the right to keep and bear arms is an inalienable right, God-given and independent of any mandatory approbation by men or their laws for its force and legitimacy

The Founders were so certain as to the absolute nature of these inalienable rights in the Bill of Rights that Alexander Hamilton suggested in Federalist No. 84 that it was unnecessary even to make them a part of the written Constitution. “For why declare that...

While everyone talks about defending the 2A rights Obama is a step ahead with his people discouraging any organized militia efforts.
The culmination of the 2A is to have a well trained and equipped militia, so far people have yet to be well trained.

Its one thing to stand your ground based upon 2A, its another to follow through with the full interpretation. And so far Obama is making a big show with one hand while the other is searching out start up militias, infiltrating them and then planting bogus evidence to bust them open with the goal of creating negative propaganda.

I just tried to buy .223 ammo. in bulk. Many places are out of stock. They also are out of stock for .30 M1 carbine ammo. This is amazing.

I don’t think this fight will ever be over, once & for all, until the communists are completely purged from the United States of America. And maybe not even then.
Joe McCarthy should have been allowed to finish the job & we, as a nation, should not have let our guard down as long as there was still a single communist country on the planet. (Actually, it’s worse than this. As we allowed the atheists to purge God from our schools & public spaces- & censorship of deviancy & violence was incrementally eroded away, we were kidding ourselves that we were still keeping communism at bay. We knew what the plan was. We had it in writing & it wasn’t ambiguous. Our Congress people should have *known* that people like Bill Ayers- known terrorists, were running “foundations”, NGOs, & “think tanks”, often receiving federal funds. Why did they allow it?)

Of course I consider the matter settled, but that doesn't mean the Roberts court will, also.

We have a SCOTUS that really no longer cares much for precedent.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever be able to "declare vistory".

It's like owning ocean-front property and having the sea eat away at your beach, eroding your back yard. You have to stay at it - you have to keep fighting it else one day you'll wake up to find your back porch drops off into the ocean.

I believe the fight will be eternal - and so we need to keep recruiting and training new soldiers in our army.
Take someone shooting with you. Take someone hunting. Pass our passion (and your weapons) down to your children and make them understand why it's important.
When they ask why, you have only to show them the news of the day. The truth of it, that is.

I went to a gun show outside Houston last week. AK’s I could buy for $100 a few years back are $1700. The price of pistols has increased substantially as has whatever ammo you can get.
An AR-15 I bought a few years ago for $500 was $3,000.

Is it a bubble? Yes it is unless they pass another law like the assault weapons ban. Will this keep guns off the streets? No, never. Even if they confiscate every gun in America Americans will start building them themselves. We are even already seeing pistols being “printed” from scratch.

Barry whatever his name is does not and has never understood Americans. I doubt he has ever actually met any of the real ones. The real Americans won’t kowtow to him or any government.

What a complete failure Obama has been. Instead of becoming one of the greatest presidents of all time who could have healed the divides people have, especially when it comes to skin color, he instead with evil vigor set about to pit people against people on so many levels it is hard to list them all. There is nothing admirable or inspiring about him.

It is necessary to the security of a kingdom that there be a plentiful supply of qualified and well armed knights, with all the privileges attendant to that estate.

Being a knight meant you could also BEAR ARMS against anyone you pleased ~ or on behalf of your liege lord ~

The full expression "keep and bear arms" means that you are a knight ~ a noble ~ entitled to all the privileges and rights of nobility.

Having a pistol or a rifle is a tiny part of that body of rights and privileges ~

It's somewhat interesting that the old Kingdom of Sweden ~ under the First Vasa king and his immediate successors ~ got into the habit of referring to all of the children of a 'knight' or nobleman with his same rank. Eventually just about everyone there became, literally a noble ~ if not in wealth or power, at least in name ~ that's why your Scandinavian genealogy is so difficult to work out BTW

Also, the Vasa king could look around and see that the Danes had made a major hit on Swedish power by murdering a good number of nobles, including the other members of his family ~ men, women and children according to the records.

He then began acquiring a new nobility from other lands ~ and for some really obscure reasons he obtained men who knew how to take the Kingdom to the status of Swedish Empire ~ and the Defender of Protestantism in Europe.

Our Founders knew Swedish history! The second amendment is not just the embodiement of the French Huguenot belief about the place of personal firearms in the body politic, but also the embodiment of the Vasa king's idea of how to throw off foreign tyranny ~ bring in good people and give them 'the right to keep and bear arms' and you will prevail, not so much because they have arms, but because they are smart and instantly have a stake in the land, their and its fortune, and, of course, their sacred honor.

These are ancient principles which should not so easily be overthrown. We know the Democrats would like to reduce us to tribalism, so we will simply have to fight all the harder, and in the end ~ maybe there won't be any more Democrats.

,,, all this may be very true and before 2008 it may have had standing as the ultimate understanding ,,,, BUT !!!!!! ,,, that was before 0bama took office and the congress became a usless mass of self indulgent liberals on both sides of the isle .

Let me make this “CLEAR” to everyone ,,,, the Constitution as we once knew it no longer exists and the congress we have now does not have in it’s interest to challenge “ANY” un-constitutional acts implemented by this regime .

If you want your country and the US Constitution back “YOU” will have to fight for it because the line has been drawn in the sand and the dare to stand up to Mr. Executive Order is now firmly in “YOUR” court .

Congress has already surrendered ..... I just hope I don’t get zotted for speaking my true feelings .

IMO, it is too soon to start talking about militias and armed resistance. This thing can be stopped long before that, if 2A supporters keep their nerve.

The key to victory is to ignore any regulation that requires registration of guns as an infringement of the 2A and therefor illegal. If they don't know where the guns are, they cannot carry out mass confiscations, which is what would trigger a violent response.

Civil disobedience is a powerful tool that pushed the Brits out of India and gained civil rights for blacks in the South.

That's where to make the stand -- let registration fizzlw out like it did in Canada.

To paraphrase Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars: “If you don’t try to steal our guns, we won’t kill you.” What could be fairer than that!

That is a fairly succinct and specific statement that says it all.

It takes time to get people trained and organized, at the very best I would say nine months.

In that space of time Obama can shut down all firearms and ammo manufacturing plus bring in outside resources such as the UN to enforce his progressive ideology.

No I disagree, training and organization should have been part of our culture along the lines of the Swiss.

Even if we started right now we would still be overwhelmed with a superior trained force that will follow orders to the letter.

They don't know where the guns are right now, and that is the great strength of the gun-owners. When the militias are formed, they will know where the most dangerous gun-owners are -- and the first guns to be confiscated.

Better to keep your powder dry and your head down until it should become necessary. If gun-owners keep their nerve and ignore registration regulations, it is likely not to become necessary -- because there are still guns behind every blade of grass.

I think you forget that a large portion of the gun owning population are the many combat vets such as myself that are well trained, battle hardened and willing to lay our life down for our country if need be.

So why don't you just surrender right now then? This three percenter and oath keeper will never surrender.

That's true, skeeter, and it cares still less—much less—for the Constitution.
