true assault rifles are capable of full-auto fire... M-16s have been cut back to a short 3 round burst, I believe H&K MP-5s also offer 2 & 3 shot burst mode as opposed to spray and pray mode. The short burst encourages accuracy and conserves ammo.

yes 3-round burst fire is a good idea to conserve ammo but is still more than one round per pull and are considered full-auto to the BATF, the H&K's on the other hand aren't riles as they use pistol rounds but to bloomingidiot, same/same...

During the Rhodesian War, there was a shortage of ammo for the government troops so the generals ordered the troops to remove the auto sears form their FNFAL rifles. The result was a great reduction in ammo consumption, no increase in casualties, and no decrease in enemy body count.
