Here it the link to a YouTube video showing Chairman Nekritz pulling the "Assault Weapon" ban which would have banned about 60 percent of the guns owned in Illinois:

Video Here

At the end of the video, you can here someone yell "Death to Tyrants", or something pretty close!

Sounded like R. Lee Ermy was there. :)

The shout may have been, Thus Always to Tyrants. The translation of the Latin Sic Semper Tyrannis.

It's the motto of the Commonwealth of Virginia, recommended by George Mason to the Virginia Convention in 1776. Along with James Madison, Mason is called the "Father of the United States Bill of Rights.

It's also what James Wilkes Booth shouted after he shot President Lincoln.

The little pimp (State Rep. Acevedo) who proposed the legislation is a former Chicago cop and State Rep. for the past 15 years who got a gun pointed at him back in 2011 in his Latin gang-banger controlled neighborhood. Why don’t these whack jobs propose legislation that goes after the bad guysmore effectively regarding gun violence (most of it gang and drug deal related) and leave the rest of us alone, since they can’t protect us anyway? That’s way to hard though, go after the law-abiding citizens, afterall, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away....

Yes. You’re not the only one. Here are a few tidbits that we know so far.

The gun control efforts have been pushed by a few constituents, who believe that they’ll somehow hold onto their wealth in our eventually radically shrunken economy (default process, etc.). Maybe there are fears in a few influential constituents, that some sort of armed middle class riots will happen in the near future (possible bond collapse, repudiations of debt, accompanied by more huge layoffs of bureaucrats, shutdowns of government-connected business, and so on). The same kinds of constituents, BTW, also have family members who focus on family issues: issues of other people’s families (feminism, homosexual issues, pathological expectations about how others should raise kids, etc.). ...and environmentalism, strange regards toward animals (animal “rights”) and more.

The recent massacres were carried out by sons of families with big cash flow (upper middle class? whatever) under very strange circumstances. The case of the first one is sealed up tight. Not saying that there is a conspiracy of some kind behind the mass murders, but only that some of the circumstances seem strange.

Meanwhile, there’s an underlying fear in politics, that big labor will return. Return to what? The productive folks are in Asia, south of our border and other places (manufacturing). Well, yes, Obama was elected and reelected to boot the “progressive” Hillary regime in upscale constituents.

IMO, the answer would be to dump many regulations in all levels of government—regulations against small manufacturing shops, owner-builder projects and similar undertakings. But the current crop of political regulators doesn’t want to let it go. We’re morally bankrupt. ...dump anti-family intrusions by social regulators, too.

But here we go, to more poverty. I doubt that we’ll see any vainglorious insurrection, but one thing’s for sure. Where we’re heading so far, technically inclined, hard working people will do relatively well.

Sorry for the hastily written mess, but there it is. Maybe someone can add useful info or put some of the puzzle together.

The phone lines down to Springfield were burning up today, took a long time to get through the constant busy signals!

And yes, someone did yell "DEATH TO TYRANTS" in that video.

You are right, they will never stop attempting to take guns away from law-abiding Americans. That’s why they need to be voted out and replaced with people who understand and respect the Constitution. A long battle continues; as to it’s end and triumph for Americans, is anyone’s guess. Say your prayers, too.
