That’s exactly what the Republican leadership wanted. Allen West was too hot for them to handle and his political stances were too inconvenient for the Party leaders who really only care about keeping power and little else.

West got something like 8,000 less votes than did Romney in St. Lucie and Martin counties. Had West just done something like 2,000 votes better he’d have won.
