One thing forgotten about "The Producers" is that it spelled the end of the Hippie movement back in 1968. At the 3:25 mark in this VIDEO you can see Dick Shawn as LSD the Hippie. Possibly the funniest movie scene ever. The satirization of hippies was so great that after this movie came out, hippies began denying they were hippies. They just couldn't take the laughter that came their way thanx to Dick "LSD" Shawn.

Seen it several times before but still had to see it through again to the end. One thing most don't think about was at that time, all girl back up groups were rare. They were over a decade away from the mainstream.

Remember an interview with Mel Brooks. He said that this movie never even showed in Germany until the 80s. The real crowd's reaction to “Springtime For Hitler” was the same as the ones in the movie audience.
