WORD ON THE HILL: PAUL RYAN to Replace John Boehner as Speaker (!)
Reaganite Republican ^ | 21 December 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Yep, ya heard it here first: TEA Party
on the verge of taking-over Congress...

Speaking on the O'Reilly Factor, Laura Ingraham said a 'well-placed conservative voice on the Hill' told her he's beginning to hear rumblings of a move to replace John Boehner as House Speaker.

And the name that keeps coming up? I LOVE IT...

Besides the fact that Speaker Boehner's recent 'Plan B' collapse displayed for all his weak leadership and general lack of support, seems that Boo-Hoo Boehner's private dealing with Obama -outside normal committe channels- was really that last straw... it's just not working for our side, period.

As we speak, TEA Party types are working to re-establish the secret vote (rather than public roll-call) so as to make it far easier to go against Boehner in next month's vote without exposing themselves to the sort of retaliation that four TEA Party members felt last month for daring to challenge ossified, ineffective Gee Oh Pee leadership... Breitbart has more on the GOP rebels' plan to unseat Boehner on January 3rd.

Godspeed Congrssman Ryan...

Ryan has a very small power base at this time but the Establishment allowed him to get to VP. He is playing the game a bit I think -because he has to, same as Rubio- and Ryan is not perfect, supported auto bailouts, etc, but would certainly be a HUGE improvement over JB once he had the gavel in his hand- if for no other reason than Obama’s terrified of him. Ryan is also a fighter/happy warrior, and once he got to the top expect a VERY conservative agenda to take hold- jmho

First, good news, if it’s, actually, true. Next, what can be done with the U.S. Senate, and how can conservatism, greatly, improve itself there, to the best of abilities? This question will, also, help determine how well conservatives will do, in future elections.

Obviously we need to win some Senate races in 2014... in the short term, it’s tough up there

Interesting if true. However, there are obstacles. Mostly, the “establishment” Republicans. While the T.E.A. party people are a potent force, the “moderate” wing still can get balky at just the wrong moment. The RINOs are more concerned with preserving the status quo than in the good health of the party.

But where they now? The RINOs (under Romney) just took a hit, losing an election that was eminently winnable, and up until the returns started coming in, seemed to have it in the proverbial bag. And why? Because a lot of folks that turned out in 2010 - were just absent, or they undervoted on the part of the ticket devoted to Presidential choice.

The defense of Herman Cain, back when David Axelrod and his operatives were making baseless claims about Cain’s marital fidelity (their favorite tactic for eliminating rivals, it turns out), just faltered and went away. Shame, because I still believe Cain would have been a vastly stronger candidate against Bronco Bama than Romney turned out to be. Romney would never take the fight TO Bronco Bama, Cain had no qualms whatsoever in calling out the Current Occupant for the empty suit that he is.

The snively stump has to go. Bammy won’t so easily roll over Ryan like he does to Boner.

GRRRRRREAT! Another crying, whining bureaucrat/socialist-enabler gets to retire with a fat-cat pension/medical/positive net worth after contributing to the financial enslavement of us, our children and our grandchildren.

Good riddance problem creator.

Ryan stood silent during Boehner’s purge of Conservatives - passive support of Boner at best.

Ryan’s “budget” gave us a balanced budget in 25 YEARS - i.e. it was the same ‘ol, same ‘ol.

NO THANKS!

Where are the REAL Constitutional/TEA Party Conservatives to lead?

Agree. I wouldn’t have any problme at all with him being number 3 for now. He could sift through and pick the legilastion to bring forward. Break these big bills into little, manageable pieces, one line at a time. I can live with that.

Boehner had ‘replaced’ about 13 committee chairpersons and has more who have been threatened.

Per some reports, just 16 members can stop Boehner from getting enough votes to remain as speaker.

It would seem Boehner has cut his own throat by going after the Tea Party/conservative leaders — before he had another speakership term cemented.

==

Mark Levin said yesterday that Boehner’s failure to get enough votes to bring his Plan B to the floor actually strengthens Boehner against Obama.

[Trouble is, Boehner seems to be one of those ‘go along, get along’ Pubbies.]

I wouldn’t mind Louie Gohmert (R-TX) being Speaker. This guy isn’t PC and clearly states how he thinks things should be.

Ryan is more of a nuts and bolts guy, who is probably the best in the House OR Senate regarding fiscal issues, but I don’t invision him as a Speaker who could bring everyone to a particular position like Gohmert can possibly do. JMO

if for no other reason than Obama’s terrified of him.

That is correct. Remember Zippy in the early budget talks at the White House Summit--when Ryan schooled Zippy on how finances would work, Zippy could only glare at him and rub his temple with his middle finger. When Zippy glares, you know you have pushed his "hot" button".

I can hope this report is true, but my hope is a very fragile thing right now. Too many Lucys holding footballs in my years with the GOP.

This is great if it happens! Shove it up Obama’s stolen ass election with causing as much strife and contention as possible against his marxist legislation in the house!

He just voted for Boehner’s folly. Good luck with that speakership.
