Prisons for Haiti: U.S. to Build Two Complexes Near Port au Prince (NEWS BRIEF)

By Steve Peacock, U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor (Dec. 20, 2012)

The U.S. Department of State is arranging the construction of two prison facilities outside Haiti's capital of Port au Prince. The project, with an estimated top-cost of $10 million, includes a 150-bed prison and 200-bed womens prison in Petit Goave and Cabaret, Haiti, respectively. State tentatively scheduled a "pre-proposal conference and site visit" for prospective prison-industry contractors in Port au Prince for February 5-6, 2013.

We’re gluing stacks of hundred dollar bills together and making bricks.

Thank God they aren’t wasting that on unemployment extensions for lazy Americans who can’t find a job!

This is a housing project intended to provide homes for about 10,000 Haitians. Watch and see.

We are also spending -- or should I say forced to spend -- an unspecified amount of our Treasury funds to create demand for liquified natural gas in Haiti. The Obama Admin. via USAID is lamenting about the Haitians' over-reliance on charcoal stoves to cook (which purportedly contributes to "global warming" and requires us to contribute our hard-earned tax dollars to put a halt to that practice.) See USAID Launches 'Clean Stoves' Project in Haiti, U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor, June 14, 2011.

They aren’t doing this. What they are doing is stealing our money and hiding it to pass around amongst themselves.

This is racist. Obama knows the overwhelming arrests of blacks there will fill those prisons.

Criminals are one commodity they don’t need to import to the island! We’re probably just building this to help them keep up with their own demand.

Do the math: It’s about $28k per cell. Staff the place with local guards at their labor rate. Then fill it up with illegals in this country. It’s a win-win.

Of all the critical things that Haiti needs, I doubt that prisons is way up on the list. Just shows you the state of the State Department.
