Reagan on 'Blaming Society'
Reaganite Republican ^ | 20 December 2012 | Reaganite Republican

"We must reject the idea that each time a law's broken, society is guilty- rather than the lawbreaker.

It's time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions"

-Ronald Reagan

The future isn’t inevitable, but I’d say this outcome is close to being sealed.

Agreed, it does seem we are already well down the slippery slope, that last election makes it feel like we’re accelerating

Nice quote. I noticed too that everything seems to be collectivized in the minds of some people.

Collective blame is assigned to everyone with guns even though the vast majority of gun owners never commit crimes. I even saw on Facebook a despicable little screed from a teacher about how the sacrifices of the individual teachers in Sandy Hook somehow proved the worth of all teachers, that they weren't the "cause of all society's problems" as the "anti-teacher governors say." Another reason to avoid facebook.

In Reagan’s day we weren’t teaching children from kindergarten that all hope is lost because their parents destroyed the planet. We weren’t teaching them that homosexuality was the norm and not having those thoughts was abnormal. We weren’t showing children cartoons of greedy rich guys peeing on the poor.

What Reagan said then was true but things are very different today where we celebrate lying and manipulation of children only to send them into the world as reality challenged individuals who have real trouble coping.

I wonder how much Obama is being paid by our enemies to destroy us from within. It might explain why he was shopping for a $40M fome in Hawaii on a 400K a year salary.

Nice Alien meltdown scene with Bill Paxton quote BTW...; )

It’s not an either-or, Mr. President.

Society bears some blame, and society suffers the consequences - including the innocent, oftentimes. (This, of course, is nothing new under the sun.)

Murderers likewise bear blame, and should likewise receive their due punishment.
