How the Serbian people remain friendly to the US and The West is beyond me...
Actually there are several Freepers, most notably Hoplite, who consider their service during the NATO-Serbian War in 1999 to be a marvelous part of a glorious chapter in US military history. They get very angry if the their services are not appropriately praised and the Serbs not equated to Nazi's. Seriously, a number of USAF and US Army officers are really violently sensitive to any questions being raised about the NATO war with Serbia. I first became aware of this when a LTC who had returned from a log support unit got almost apoplectic when I simply stated that I could not discover any critical or even significant US national interest that was impacted by the Serb-Albianian conflict in Kossovo. Apparently he had taken leave before coming to us and his family was from Steelton Pa and he went down to the VFW hall with his father and uncle and proceeded to catch unshirted hell from the local vets, who were heavily Serb and Slovak descent, over his involvement in Bill and Westy’s excellent adventure. This was a profound shock to him. I believe a lot of US military who took part in this sorry episode have some doubts about it and as they are nurtured on the rather simplistic view that anything the US armed forces do is a blessed crusade against satanic hosts (unless they are Muslims) such thoughts or any confrontation over them produces very strong conflicted feelings. To mask this a public stance of obnoxious self righteousness is maintained.
Yep, the brainwashing was not done exclusively by the commies, the Brits and FDR’s commie administration were quite adroit at perpetuating the Big Lies! I’d recommend reading “Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover’s Secret History of the Second World War and Its Aftermath” for more details of the treachery from all sides which was the foundation of WW2.
