I joined the Air Force during the 80s. On the way in for a regularly scheduled appointment with my recruiter, I passed a “flamboyant” classmate. When I asked the recruiter if he signed him up he replied, “You know that cat?” I told him he was in one of my classes at school. He told me he referred him to the Army recruiter. I never learned whether or not they signed him up.
