It only took 40 years. But finally, actress-turned-workout-specialist Jane Fonda has apologized for sitting on a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun during her 1972 visit to North Vietnam. Fonda, who used her fame to push her radical leftism during her heyday, traveled to Hanoi in 1972 in solidarity with the Viet Cong. While there, she proceeded to blame the US for supposedly bombing a dike system, and did a series of radio broadcasts stating that US leaders were “war criminals.” Those broadcasts were replayed for American POWs being tortured by the Viet Cong. Later, when POWs spoke about their experiences of torture, Fonda would call them “hypocrites and liars,” stating, “These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed.” She explained that these POWs were “careerists and professional killers.”

She should have been tried for treason years ago.
Is there a statute of limitations for treason?
She gave one or two good performances (Klute & They Shoot Horses) and then backslid into repetitious, pious, politically-correct roles that eroded her talent. By the time she quit to marry Ted Turner, she was unbelievably bad. The art of acting must be studied continually. Going off and becoming a traitor does not a great actress make.
Why is “Front Page” helping with the lie by using such a headline? It has been pointed out previously that she has not actually apologized; she has merely expressed regret for that photo because of the long-lasting — and much deserved — grief she has gotten over the years because of it.
According to Barbra Streisand, Fonda only had a career because Streisand turned down all of Fonda’s roles first!
The headline is really deceptive. She did not apologize in the article. There is nothing close to an apology in the article except for her saying she should not have sat on the anti-aircraft gun. The rest of her trip, including making the trip, she stands by, says she is proud of.
God forgives, I don’t.
“Yes indeed, this here’s the cemetery where they buried Jane Fonda,” said the watchman. “Her grave’s not hard to find, it’s beneath that big pile of human excrement. Some years ago, a generous donor put up a scaffold with a toilet seat on it, and some days there’s quite a line, so it’s good you’re here early. It’s the only one like it, outside of the John Kerry pile in Boston.”
She is doing this as she portrayed Nancy Reagan and wants conservatives to go see her movie.
I actually loved Jane in the movie, “The Dollmaker.” She played a Kentucky backswoodsy wife whose husband moved the family to Detroit. He got a job working in the auto plant and started buying everything on credit, got messed up with the union thugs and she whittled dolls to sell so they could go back home and buy a farm in Kentucky. They also lost a precious little girl who sat on a train track and got run over. It was heart wrenching.
I despise her politics and what she did in VC, but I will give her kudos for her acting in the above-mentioned movie.
She also did a good job in “On Golden Pond.” Other than these 2, I haven’t seen any of her other movies.
They irony is, she is not only despised by us but by our enemies but they will use her idiocy.
If she dies, will the current administration bury her in Arlington? Hmmmmm?
This is not the first time. She mad a so-called apology many years ago. I never trusted her for it.
She will forever be Hanoi Jane, the traitor. No amount of self-serving apology will ever remove the taint that she has permanently tattooed on her soul and in our minds.
I’m not watching her movie, not this one or any other, ever. She is scum.
How is that an apology?
She doesn’t deserve to be considered an American Citizen. We lost too many loved ones while she gloated over the enemy. She became our enemy and will so remain. I wouldn’t want to live in the same city with her. She is poop beneath my feet.
Threatening to torture and murder someone is a federal crime, dear.
Please have your post pulled and resign yourself to having her tried, and if convicted, hanged for treason.
Here’s hoping that the statute of limitations has not run out, and that you are young enough to pee on her grave should she predecease you.
