Bobby Jindal wins Turkey of the Year Award

This self-promoting, narcissistic presidential aspirant did not even let the dust settle from the 2012 presidential campaign before he was hurling insults at Governor Romney. In the immediate aftermath of the election, Jindal made headlines for referring to the Romney campaign as “stupid.” He made a very public point of saying that he rejected Romney’s analysis of the election that Obama won by giving large “gifts” to certain minority groups. He called the remarks “insulting” and said that the Republican Party cannot win by demonizing people.

Surely LA can find someone in the TEA Party to primary Jindal when he runs for re-election. He’s yesterday’s news.

We eat our own, while Democrats continue to gain ground.

Eat cow patties, Jindal.

Jindal is not a natural born citizen of the U.S.A.; also not of presidential timber, although seems to be a very good governor for his state, IMO.

Well, it’s one thing to “eat our own” as you say - it’s another thing to do so while being totally bass ackwards from the truth, which Jindal is.

Hasn’t done much about the sinkhole yet, except to evacuate folks.

At 15-20ft below sea level, not another cent should be spent on that sewer. So I won’t offend anyone here who actually like NOLA, I won’t say what should be done with it.

LOL, it doesn’t mater who the RNC puts up, they’ll be chewed up by the MSM before they even reach the starting gate.

You can't out-pander the Democrats with minorities.

Minority voters who are susceptible to pandering just won't believe a Republican attempting to pander and will vote for the genuine, Democrat pandering article.

Fiscal and social conservatives will see the pandering for what it is, will be infuriated and won't support the attempted panderer.

Mushy middle undecideds will be put off by the uproar, the source of which they have no clue, so they'll just vote for the panderer who is not being attacked.

It's a no-win for the Republican panderer. For all his purported intelligence, it was a stupid thing to say on Jindal’s part. His first impulse is pandering.

Thank you Governor Jindal, for making your priorities clear. In that, you are in the company of another governor, Chris Christie of New Jersey.

You both seem uniquely suited to the conditions and challenges in your respective states. You should stay there.

The sinkhole could be a real danger though. Hydrogen sulfide, butane, methane, and other gasses have accumulated. And, the thing keeps growing. Hopefully the worst doesn’t happen; but, it doesn’t look like this will end well

It’s a bomb waiting to go off. When it does, Katrina will be a day in the park, compared to what happens, regionwide.

I agree. Hopefully the jolt doesn’t set off a New Madrid adjustment or it could be nation wide impact.

I think most here are misreading Jindal's remarks. He didn't say anything about pandering. Using Romney's turns of phrase, which were in their own way, as clunky as Akin and Mourdoch's though on a different matter, are not the way to persuade people to vote for you.

Romney's campaign was astonishingly vapid and content-free and feebly negative ("in over his head"). Yeah, I know he had his five to 59 points for fixing the economy, which was mostly composed of platitudes. I also don't expect ANY politician to get too specific about what to cut. But, man, if you are going to go negative, go NEGATIVE, and on Obama, not on the 47% or on anybody whose votes you might want. This was Dukakis redux; for those who recall, Dukakis wanted to make the election about "competency". He had it, Bush the Elder didn't. Great playbook there Romney, he wanted to be Mike Dukakis, Wendell Willke and Steve Forbes (decent man, awful candidate) rolled into one. ONCE in a while you get the successful businessman who is the whole package. Pete DuPont and Peter Fitzgerald are two that come to mind. Most of the rest are "in over their heads".

This is NOT the time to be gunning after anyone who questions the man who ruined the election of 2012: Mitt Romney. He is killed, now we must BURY him, not praise him.

Too bad Mr.-Competant-Business-Man-who-saved-the-Olympiscs-and-fixed-Massachusetts couldn't even run a dcent GOTV operation or spend his money efficiently on ads (he did the same with the ads in 2008).

This is an anti-Romney site. We just happen to be more anti-Obama, so many chose the poop sandwich over the strichnine ... fine.

But now it is time to understand that the GOP-E is going to try to hang this on us, instead of their own candidate that they shoved down our throats. So, don't worry about Romney getting criticized. He got his chance, and for his extra $100,000,000 in campaigning and the mask being ripped off of Obama at least to some, he couldn't take the ball over the goalline, or even move the needle much. He is a negative example of what NOT to do, not one to be defended.

Um, he was already reelected in a landslide. Carried in a GOP legislature for the first time since Reconstruction, too.
