Polls indicated that Romney was going to win the election. The economy is close to Great Depression era conditions, and unemployment is almost as high as when Obama entered office. Economic conditions became so dire after Obama took office it prompted the rise of an entire new movement, the Tea Party.
Presidents rarely win reelection when the economy is in the tank.
So how did Romney lose a race that numerous reputable polls and pundits predicted would be an easy win, based on historical patterns?
Massive voter fraud.
There are massive reports of criminal activity
(not mischief, not shenanigans, as many term the fraud- but CRIMINAL ACTIVITY) going on all over the U.S during the presidential election.
Reports of machines changing votes from Romney to Obama, eyewitness reports of Republican poll watchers who observed busloads of non-English speaking Somalians in Ohio being instructed to vote Obama- the list is endless.

It doesn’t matter who I would support. There isn’t a Republican who could win a national election.
Now typically this is fine, GFY GOP-E, BUT being the Patriot that she is. Sarah didn't want to risk some sort of splinter GOP-E third party rebellion and get Hussein back in the White Hut.
So, their still being an acceptable number of alternatives to Romney she decided to sit this one out. (But Mittens still wound up with the Nomination and look where we are now)
But Sarah knows all this isn't about her, this is bigger than me, you, or her wanting to be president.
That being the Chief Executive is a Responsibility and a Privilege, not an end unto itself, the way Ubama and I would bet Romney sees it.
That is what makes Sarah so special, to be honest I don't think she wants to be President per say, she just wants a Conservative in the white house and if it ends up being her, well so be it.

There IS something to be said for that. We are going to perpetually lose with what the GOP elite and their mouthpieces give us, why not go with one of our own win or lose?

Romney seemed to have it all. Money, support, you name it. He was bound to win. Except his support was flat, not really anyone outside Utah really supported him, and he lost. I supported him, but he lost.
BEFORE I supported Romney, I supported Sarah. Those were the days. I and millions of others built up our expectations. We were going to WIN. Finally.
It was not to be, this year.
I still remember learning she would not run in 2012. I was as depressed as possible. Stunned really.
I threw my support gamely to Romney just to have a race, but I knew inside Romney wasn’t going to probably do it.
We had our champion. We had her, she was virtually in the race.
What went wrong I will never know. Whether Palin will run this time, I will support her and seek to get her in this race this time.
Run Ms. Palin. Think about it now.
Move yourself into the national discussion.

From religious leaders, to conservative leaders, they abandoned their life’s works to embrace whatever this guy brought to the party, from Romneycare to his rejecting the pro-life party platform, and calling for homosexualizing the Boy Scouts and the military, we just threw everything away, and got a handful of dust in the end.
I hope they didn’t break the party for good.
