The "Peaceful Secession" movement won't give us two Americas, but where is the downside to it?

If secession could only be achieved by force of arms or a court decision the “Peaceful Secession” movement would be futile. But “secession” need not involve brick and mortar barriers. The spirit of secession can be far more effective in dealing with a federal government gone rogue – it can stop it cold.

But as was the case in 1776 it seems that some who would be expected to come to the “Peaceful Secession” cause have not. Some self –identified conservatives actually seem to believe the only reason to sign a secession petition is because you REALLY believe doing so will bring about a new separate nation in North America. This is the narrowest view of the possibilities involved.

A successful physical secession, however unlikely, is only one reason for signing a petition demanding your state be allowed to “peacefully secede” from the United States. Aside from this...

We need some states to start telling the Obamadork to shove his ideas, philosophy, and the rest of himself into his Obamahole.

Let’s let the feds try to make any moves after that.

We’ve had it, and it’s got to start somewhere.

I’d love to have my state dare Holder-butt to even land here.

Transfer them to the Texas National Guard.

There already are two Americas. The secession movement is just the beginning of people finally recognizing it.

it’s not going to happen and makes us look stupid and gives the dims another excuse to call us unpatriotic (i know pot kettle). there isn’t the loyalty to the individual state there was prior to the war of northern aggression.
i would much prefer state governors to start exercising more states’ rights initiatives such as arresting the federalis when they violate state laws even if those laws are not recognized by the feebs (ie colorado marajuana laws).

You better think a lot harder than that. After all, being a member of the Texas national guard won't mean much as they sit in some mideast hell hole watching supplies dwindle and the enemy gather to wait.

P.S. They HATE us no matter what we do so we might as will go down getting knocked off our feet than begging on our knees.

Anyone who would “...petition the obama administration to:Peacefully grant the State of...to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government” undermines their own credibility as a Constitutional conservative.

1. The Obama administration has no Constitutional authority to grant such a petition.

2. No single State would need to create a new government as they all have one that would do, with some modification.

3. If the Obama administration could and did “Peacefully grant the State of...to withdraw from the United States of America...”, it would have no say in the establishment of a government for the State.

I admit this effort is useful to let it be known that the people are upset (putting it mildly)but it doesn’t seem to be well thought out and thoughtful people, and those who have taken an oath to support the Constitution, should think carefully before jumping on this particular bandwagon.

an expected respons. personally i’m too old to give a crap about what pretty much anybody says about me, especially some wanker like letterman. i have ex friends who think the teaparty is a racist group and all this backlash against the election is because we white folks fear losing our “power”. they get their news fromn tv and newspapers so they don’t get the truth. they think we are nutters and this will add to the fire WITHOUT really accomplishing anything. if i thought it would actuall accomplish spmething i would sign.

That's why we need to bring the boys home now.

If you are worried about what the other side thinks, you’re paralyzed.
