Petraeus Scandal: An affair that was known to the FBI for months and kept from congressional oversight committees might explain his complicity in a false narrative of the Benghazi terrorist attack and the order to "stand down."

The addition of sex to Benghazigate adds a dimension sure to keep the scandal going and one that does indeed make Watergate seem like a third-rate burglary. The affair admitted to by Gen. David Petraeus, now our former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, might have attached blackmail or the potential for blackmail to a scandal we have already called a case of criminal negligence.

But blackmail by whom?

Petraeus isn't the first general to have an affair while in uniform. But as CIA director, Petraeus' knowledge of the nation's secrets was unparalleled, as was his knowledge of what happened and when regarding the assault on our consulate in Libya.

The timing of his resignation is most curious — just days after the presidential election and days before he was scheduled to testify before Congress, under oath, regarding the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell is expected to testify in his place. But lawmakers want to hear from Petraeus, and so do we.

As we've noted, just two days after the attack on our Benghazi consulate, representatives of the FBI and National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) gave Capitol Hill briefings in which they said the evidence supported an al-Qaida or al-Qaida-affiliated attack.

The FBI and NCTC also briefed that there were several al-Qaida training camps just outside Benghazi. The area was described as a hotbed for the militant Ansar al-Sharia as well as al-Qaida in North Africa.

Obama had leverage and used it.

Yes, and is now being preemptively trashed to destroy his credibility. Even if he testifies and presents irrefutable evidence condeming Obama it will be dismissed as revenge.

And don't forget the twins parents are from Lebanon...so there is the possibility of prejudice against Israel. Causing the dumping of so many high position military when coupled with the Obama military cuts doesn't bode well for the defense of our country (or Israel).

The body of retired Army General and former CIA head, David Petraeus, was found yesterday in Washington’s C & O canal after it was snagged by a 13 year old boy when he snagged it while fishing.

Petraeus, who had been granted congressional immunity for his testimony on the circumstances surrounding the murder of the 4 Americans at the Benghazi consulate earlier this year, failed to appear at the December 6th hearing.

It was reliably reported that he told key House Intelligence Committee staffers that he was ready to “come clean” and “do the right thing.”

Due to the high profile nature of this case, Attorney General Eric Holder has put the FBI in charge of the investigation. The body, found with an estimated 300 pounds of steel weights tied to it with steel cables and over 6 bullet wounds, was sent to the FBI Forensics Lab for examination.

While an expedited full autopsy report is expected in 2 to 3 days, a high level FBI spokesman declared at a press conference that “This looks like a clear case of suicide to us.”

Don't be surprised if Petraeus walks into a newsroom and says he'd like to make a statement. They'd jump so fast at it.....EXCEPT...if he gives away "supposed" secrets, they could be in trouble or not.......

So my guess is that Obama's goons are on his tail every moment.

Remember the SEAL who was one of the group who took down Osama was supposedly in big trouble for writing his book.
