Axelrod's Next Project: Inspiring Young People to Become 'Journalists'
CNS News ^ | November 11, 2012 | Terence P. Jeffrey

President Barack Obama's senior campaign adviser David Axelrod said on CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that his next project will include inspiring young people to become "journalists."

"What do you do next?" CBS's Bob Schieffer asked Axelrod.

"I'm going to spend part of my time starting an institute of politics at the University of Chicago," said Axelrod. "My feeling is if I can help inspire some young people to get into this arena as candidates, as strategists, as journalists, then that would be a great contribution to make."

Conservatives have very few choices.

Too late to filtrate into MSM.

Fight back in education system would be a long term mission.

There's a shortage of Left-wing journalists?

To me, the next campaign is against the media, not against any particular candidate from the left.

I kept asking myself this last election, "How do you campaign when every sitcom, movie, sports radio, news paper, magazines, reality and news show (etc) vilifies you and your political principals?"

While I am all for freedom of the press, I am also for freedom from the press as they have corrupted what was once mostly balanced.

I wouldn’t let him babysit the Manson Family lest they learn bad habits from him.

Knock Alexrod all you want but why didn’t the GOP think of this? Why don’t we inspire people to get involved with journalism? We just find it easier to sit back and bitch about it instead of trying to counter. Liberal media? Yes but where is it written that it must be like that?

The Dems understand the need to constantly renew their stranglehold.

Conservatives just whine about mainstream media bias rather than enter the field themselves to bring about balance.

Forget Axlerod, someone better be figuring out how to inspire young people to become Conservatives.

They have the MSM (including most newspapers and all but half of one TV network), Hollywood, most of the music industry, the unionized teachers, university professors, and the unions.

What do we have?

And how exactly do we think we can win this battle when we carry a pea shooter into a machine-gun fight?

Worth repeating over and over again.
