It does seem that Romney and the convention conservative wisdom is to accept that making your attacks on the person will turn voters off, especially women. Why then was Obama so successful in attacking Romney and making him into a wife killer? The GOP refused to attack the media’s popular president, and by acknowledging the media myth that everyone loves Obama/democrats and we have to separate the man and myth from deeds is indeed a recipe for failure.

The Republicans need to start using Alinsky tactics on the Rats.....sometimes you do have to stoop down to your opponent’s level.

I will never forget a movie made, as I recall, sometime immediately after WWII. Maybe ‘47 - ‘49.

When Sidney Greenstreet was at his fattest and most ugly.

In the movie, he was some kind of big time advertising agency operative.

He had a dozen or so of his people in the board room and he opened the meeting by spitting on the middle of the big table in the board room, around which all of his flunkies were sitting.

I will never forget what he said as we wiped it up with his handkerchief:

“You have just seen me do a repulsive thing.”

“But you will never forget it.”

The point of course is that to make people remember, sometimes you have to be brutal, obnoxious or whatever it takes to make people remember.

Obumbler, with all of his faults, gets the point across.
