Election Postmortem – The Point Everybody is Missing
Flopping Aces ^ | 11-11-12 | Brother Bob

Posted on 11/11/2012 10:52:27 AM PST by Starman417

By now everybody knows about the results of Tuesday's elections and we've seen tons of analysis. The predominant themes have been that only in hindsight did Romney run a horrible campaign, that the Tea Party extremism had been rejected by the voters, that this is truly Obama's mandate, all of the Republican forecasting models were horrifically wrong, and that the Republican party's only hope is to make drastic changes to its principles if it hopes to survive. Did I miss anything? It's natural to knee jerk or overreact when something unexpected happens, so I have advice for both sides: don't read too much into this election and base your next moves only on what happened Tuesday.

First, for the Democrats, you weren't given a mandate. You scored some impressive wins on Tuesday, and for that I congratulate you. You kept the presidency in a hard fought campaign. You managed to gain seats in the Senate, including one popular figure from your side in Elizabeth Warren retaking Ted Kennedy's old seat in Massachusetts. You got a referendum passed in Colorado legalizing pot, you got gay marriage ballot initiatives through in three states, and in California several measures to raise taxes and restrict economic freedom also went through. Combine this with President Obama's 333 electoral votes and it looks like you've got a clear mandate that the country is shifting leftward, right?

Not quite. When you look at the battleground states the president's victory only came by roughly 350,000 votes. Yes, I now what the final margin in the overall popular vote was certainly more decisive, but keep in mind that the president also got nine million fewer votes than in 2008. The Republicans gained seats in the House, and now has it's largest margin among Governorships that either party has had in 12 years. Your California measures only made an already hostile business climate even worse by raising taxes and assuring that the unions will still be able to force union members to pay for their political campaigning. Expect more businesses to leave your state and unemployment to rise even more. And be careful with the gay marriage wins - your side seems to be even more prone to overreach than the right is. I'm predicting you'll jump the shark on this issue when someone decides to file a lawsuit against a church that refuses to perform a gay marriage. Sadly you'll succeed in turning public opinion on this issue better than any conservative ever could.

Now for the conservatives. Yes, the Romney campaign was not perfect. I'm not even going to bother linking to any of the myriad of post game analysis articles on what went wrong. If you're reading this post you've probably read more than your share already. The day wasn't a complete disaster for the GOP, as seen by my earlier mention of the House and Governorships. Of course, the presidency was the big prize and the failure to defeat such an incompetent president is painful to say the least. While I've seen no shortage of reasons for Romney's loss to Obama, nobody has seen the most obvious reason that Romney failed - there is simply no way he could have beaten Obama.

The first step is to stop having the Democrats pick the Republican Presidential candidate. The Democrats crossover in the primaries and vote in poor candidates for the Republicans. How many Democrat Presidents would we have if the Republicans crossed over and voted in the Democrat primaries? Man, I’d give them Charlie Manson every time. “Charlie’s a real socialist!” And we have to understand the old media. If they draw your attention to something, it’s because they don’t want you looking somewhere else. If they have a good idea for the Republicans, then it isn’t a good idea. If they tell you that the Democrats can’t possibly be beat on an issue, it’s because they’re scared to death that the Democrats can be beat on that issue. If they tell you that the Republicans need to do something, then they probably shouldn’t do it. The old media don’t just see Republicans as opponents to the Democrats, they see us as their mortal enemies. We’re the ones who keep the Democrats from reaching their “higher calling”.

With all due respect to Brother Bob who wrote the Flopping Aces article, based on posts on this message board concerning possible (likely?) voter fraud, the dust has not settled on the 2012 elections imo.

In fact, there is a petition on the WH web site which was started yesterday, the petition demanding a recount because of many reports from all over the nation which suggest possible voter fraud.

Recount the election!
In fact, not only is the goal of the petition to collect only 25,000 signatures by Dec. 10, but since midnight CST to now, about 4:21PM, the signatures have grown from a little over 5000 to under 9000 in roughly 16 hours. So I think that they're definitely going to have the 25,000 signatures that they want by Dec. 10, not that WH is going to do anything about it.

Also note that a dedicated web site is compiling reports which question possible voting fraud.

Barack Obama Voter Fraud 2012

Again, the dust has not settled on the 2012 elections imo.

I will never forget a movie made, as I recall, sometime immediately after WWII. Maybe ‘47 - ‘49.

When Sidney Greenstreet was at his fattest and most ugly.

In the movie, he was some kind of big time advertising agency operative.

He had a dozen or so of his people in the board room and he opened the meeting by spitting on the middle of the big table in the board room, around which all of his flunkies were sitting.

I will never forget what he said as we wiped it up with his handkerchief:

“You have just seen me do a repulsive thing.”

“But you will never forget it.”

The point of course is that to make people remember, sometimes you have to be brutal, obnoxious or whatever it takes to make people remember.

Obumbler, with all of his faults, gets the point across.

He doesn’t mention voter fraud. Anyone who doesn’t mention voter fraud is like someone who pretends 0bastard is Constitutionally eligible to be President and pretends that black on white crime is not exploding.

Throw out this all-fraud county and Mitt wins Ohio, no question!

Why? A total of 5,364,324 “people” voted in Ohio. Obama got 2,691,861 votes, while Romney got 2,584,620, a difference of 107,241 votes.

How did Cuyahoga County’s 900,135 votes affect the final result? You do the math.

For Ohio to certify this result would be a crime in and of itself.

Thank you to the Examiner for mentioning us!

Here is a petition you can sign at Change.org to request a full recount. I suggest we just focus on the swing states, but it is true that many Congressional and Senate races are also affected, from Allen West to, I believe, Mia Love. Mia was up by 10% the week before the election and lost by 3,000 votes to Matheson in a state that went 73% for Romney. Not likely!

And what do you think of this? This was way before the election, but apparently George Soros, who we have already established rigged an election in Hungary and was banned for it AND helped get Obama elected the first time... I’ll let you read the headline:

“Soros advises Obama to use forceful measures to override the will of the people”
http://redwhitebluenews.com/?p=12336

I think this goes well beyond the 900+ executive orders that go around Congress, more than three times the executive orders given by all previous US Presidents combined. We saw it in action Tuesday, November 6th!

A Tea Party group has posted this article, with interesting stats and some criticism for Romney for not standing up and doing something about it yet:
http://teapartyorg.ning.com/m/discussion?id=4301673%3ATopic%3A1108645

Personally I think as the case is strong enough, Mitt will do something. Too much is at stake, and as we just found out, Ohio is definitely Mitt’s, and Florida, too, just based on fraud in a few counties! Colorado, too!

Keep up the referrals and the sharing, everyone! Thank you SO much for helping America fix an election that has clearly been “fixed.”

Voter fraud cheapens the votes of the 60 million who picked Mitt to the point of nothingness and gives weight to those who in reality were the minority. If grand theft is defined as any theft over $5,000, what do you call the ONE BILLION times that that is likely to happen AGAIN over the next four years if we do not right this wrong?

Here is to our real President Elect and First Lady, Mitt and Ann Romney.

Until 2008, Romney was Obama, so the fact that he managed to look like a republican candidate at all, is a testament to his pliability with truth.

So ... in your opinion ... was a 2012 vote for Romney a "conservative" vote or a "liberal" vote?

So far you haven’t agreed with it, or disagreed with it, you have merely gone personal and into a rage.

What in that statement do you agree with or disagree with?

Actually, who cares, you don’t seem to have anything to add in regards to politics, or the election.

And why we are stuck with Obama.

Obama versus Romney. Hummm — that's a tough one. /sarc

There wasn't another viable choice for Pres. on the ballot. Really only four names on my ballot.

That is the system and process and as imperfect as it is, we are stuck with it and there is nothing better.

OTOH, I respect a person for voting their conscience. But there are consequences.
