Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov ^ | Nov. 9, 2012 | Micah H

Here is how the document reads-

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

If Texas were to actually secede I would be very tempted to move there.

If it were on statehouse letterhead with Governor Perry’s signature, I’d be on the phone to U-Haul.

IF, Texas were to secede, there’d be a couple million of us armed, who’d go there to support them.

Where in the Constitution does it say a state has to ask permission?

Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana would make a good group. Just look at the natural resources involved.

If you're going to be taken seriously in an effort like this, you're going to have to make sure the petition is written better.

to do so would protect it's citizens'

"it's" is a contraction for "it is." Your sentence as written makes no sense. The word you're looking for is "its" -- no apostrophe. And the construction of the sentences isn't much better.

It's a great sentiment, and one with which I heartily agree. But get a pro to write it for you before you present it and make a fool of yourself.

Texas is little different culturally from California.

Gay and LA raza mayors and Austin is to the left of LA.

I like to dream too.

I dream that the US is still filled with self reliant, God fearing people.
