Dear Matt Drudge, Please Continue To Publish Stories On Race

Dear Mr Drudge,

In this piece on "The Hill" blog, you received a request from a Democrat liberal operative to "stop the race stories". As an American citizen I'm asking you to please not stop.

I do this not for partisan reasons - after President Obama's reelection I find I'm less partisan than ever. I do it because modern American journalism is suffering from a terrible illness, and that illness is eating away at our ability to recognize the truth. It's not that American journalism is slanted or political with regard to race as much as it is deeply delusional. And it will ignore or misrepresent the vast portions of the truth in any way it feels necessary in order to preserve that delusion.

Longtime journalist Colin Flaherty, has seen this illness, and has gone about documenting it in his recently published book "White Girl Bleed A Lot". In his book he details hundreds of examples of violent crime where race is an obvious motivator, but the racial component of the story has been removed from the narrative by journalists. It's literally as if the press has found a man being burned alive in the middle of a Klan rally, and instead of calling attention to the self declared racial motivations, they reported it as a terrible tragedy at a southern barbeque and nothing more.

Mr. Flaherty specifically doesn't address the question of why the journalism community has so consistently removed that important part of the narrative. When I asked him about it he said he felt that it would be more effective to simply recount the details and let the reader make their own assumptions about the reasons for such wholesale failure by journalists. And given the way that the journalism industry reacts to people who challenge their beliefs on race, I'd have to say there is plenty of evidence to support his view.

You may be aware of the case of John Derbyshire, a freelance writer from Long Island who made such a mistake. In reaction to an article he had read where black parents were instructing their children how to avoid (nearly non-existent) white on black crime, he wrote a similarly structured slightly satirical piece where he instructed his own children how to avoid black on white crime, which is actually much more common. And when he published that piece in an online journal, he was summarily vilified by the media, and fired from his position as a writer for National Review.

I know John Derbyshire and both of his (multi-racial) children quite well. He is nothing like the monster that journalists have come to depict him as. He is an eminently thoughtful and considerate man who is driven in all his relations with people by a desire to demonstrate good manners. And those manners are demonstrated by him to all people equally regardless of color, or any other aspect of their identity for that matter. I know this from my own years long experience with the man, and have seen it demonstrated countless times with my own eyes.

But the mistake John made was telling the truth to a people who desperately and defensively need to believe a lie. None of the journalists who criticized him has ever challenged any of the specific claims in his piece, they only indicted him as a monster for having the temerity to call attention to them when they had developed an unspoken consensus not to. And since he lacked your power and influence in the journalism world, he was instantly made a fall guy and sacrificed in the name of preserving the illusion of the journalism community's views on race. He told the truth, and for his honesty, American journalism has painted him an villain and cast him aside.

But they can't do that to Matt Drudge. You are already far too influential and powerful for that. And for that reason I ask you to keep telling the honest truth about the news and including the racial component of stories when it's evident. American deserve an honest voice in our understanding of the role that race plays in our society and we can't have an honest dialog about it if America's journalists refuse to admit that it exists.

The journalist from The Hill who is imploring you to ignore race as they do, will probably secretly tell you that we common citizens are too dim and unsophisticated to 'handle' the facts when it comes to race. But how will we ever learn that sophistication if they continue to shelter us from that portion of the truth?

Mr. Drudge, you seem to me to be a man of courage an honesty. So as an American citizen who is very much not a journalist, I beg you to please keep giving us the news exactly as you have been, and don't submit to the childish consensus of journalists, that we citizens can't handle the truth about race.

Eh, talking about race is a thought-terminating cliché. I think Conservatives should articulate a constructive vision towards transcending this and putting themselves above race issues, emphasize a message of “no more hyphenated-Americans, we’re all Americans” or some such.

Someone needs to start pushing the idea of a true post-racial society, and it might as well be us.

Trying to ignore the obvious by being race-neutral is extremely harmful in the long run. Races do exist. People are helped and hindered by their race, not just in their personal and family lives, but in their community, at the academic level, in employment, incarceration, health care and many other things.

And don’t for a minute think that this argument is from a liberal perspective.

Slave-descended black Americans are suffering terribly today, mostly from “self-inflicted wounds”. Skin color has nothing to do with it, either, as even African immigrant blacks recognize that s-d blacks have a horribly toxic culture, and they want nothing to do with it or them.

It is indeed a “race problem”, but from within, not people of other races oppressing them. And yet s-d blacks and everybody else, for that matter, are not *permitted* to see the truth, because of the MSM *embargo* on the truth.

And it has gone far beyond the MSM. Many governments and police departments absolutely refuse to state the obvious, omitting the racial factor when it is inherent to a situation, or even boldly lying and denying it when confronted by the truth.

It is insane that when s-d blacks go on a racist, mob rampage, that it is not reported as such. Or *prosecuted* as such! What in heaven’s name do they imagine they are accomplishing?

Look at what is happening right now to s-d black Americans:

1) A 70% illegitimacy rate.
2) 30,000 or so abortions every year in NYC alone.
3) 25% of black men are either in prison or on parole.
4) Perpetual sky high unemployment.
5) Very high homicide rate, 95% of which are black-on-black.
6) The list goes on and on.

Here is an online news website that just reports some of what is happening around the urban US. Is anyone bettered by pretending this is not happening? (They even apologize because so many of their stories are about blacks.)

You make good points.

Races do exist, but as you correctly point out it’s fundamentally a cultural crisis within predominantly Black communities, and it should be approached as such instead of directly cast as a ‘race issue’ per se. Like instead of the “plight of Black people in America” it should be construed more along the lines of “plight of inner-city Americans” or “Americans in Black communities” or hell, even “Black Americans” makes a big difference in contrast to “Blacks”.

Subtle distinctions, but I think these are important in modulating how people mentally conceive these issues, because too many go braindead and effectively stop thinking once their minds are pivoting around it directly as being a race issue by itself.

I think some of the ideas Herman Cain had come up in concert with Alveda King during the primaries, were reasonable conservative-minded approaches towards addressing problems faced within Black American communities.

Except that the situation of slave-descended black Americans is critical. When a people are effectively being destroyed, no matter the cause, it is not a time for niceties.

And there is a single proximate cause of almost all the problems of slave-descended black Americans. It has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with a moral collapse leading to sex outside of marriage.

Sex outside of marriage? Seriously? Yes, deadly seriously.

The American culture now fully embraces the idea of “sexual liberation”, rejecting the ideas of monogamy and marriage as being social contrivances. That youth should be spent bed-hopping, and to not do so means that people’s lives have been terribly and unfairly deprived of pleasure.

But sex outside of marriage is exterminating slave-descended black America. AS it would do to any other group that as a group rejected monogamy and marriage.

And I am very careful again to make the distinction between slave-descended black Americans and African immigrant blacks. The latter strictly refrain from sex outside of marriage, and by this one thing are not prone to all the terrible consequences. So I do not say “blacks”, other than as shorthand for s-d black Americans.

So why should the rest of Americans care if s-d blacks wish to self exterminate, albeit assisted by Planned Parenthood?

Simply put, collateral damage. The rest of America has spent hundreds of billions of dollars to help s-d black America overcome the results of their disaster, while ignoring the root cause. Money thrown at education, job training, jobs, direct aid, prisons, the list is extensive. And the vast majority of it has been wasted.

It doesn’t help, it just enables. And s-d blacks do not see all the efforts to help them, only the imaginary bugaboo of racism “keeping the black man down”.

And the MSM goes to lengths to maintain this illusion, by refusing to show the problem, much less discuss the obvious solution.

I read Flaherty’s book: White Girl Bleed a Lot: the return of racial violence and how the media ignore it.

Takeaway: There is an enormous amount of racial violence all over the country that the press ignores.
