A Workable Solution to the Immigration Issue
Off Grid Blogger blog ^ | November 9, 2012 | Off Grid Blogger

We have illegal immigrants living among us here in Texas. We like them and greatly appreciate their contribution. However, we should make a distinction between those who are here only to work, and those who are here to work and to integrate into American society. Here is my plan.

Non U.S. citizens could apply for a Work Visa whether they reside in a foreign country or are already in America illegally—no distinction. To be accepted they must meet certain basic criteria of literacy and a clean record. Those who are accepted into the Work Visa program as illegal aliens would pay a tax penalty over several years. So they do not get off scott free. All those who have a Work Visa will also have a path to citizenship if they work toward that goal.

This is not amnesty. Employers who hire people who do not have the Work Visa are fined. Those workers caught here who have not at least filed the application for the Work Visa can be deported.

Those workers who have filed the paperwork to get into the system would then be trackable to be sure that they are virtuous. If they do not have an adequate education and English skills, they would be required to go to night school. This system therefore moves these people along into our society or discriminates against them if they do not participate in the path to integrate fully.

Let me give you an example of a man I know. He was brought here by his parents when he was 9 years old. He graduated from high school with good marks. He married an American girl and they have 3 kids. He would like to go into the dental field but as neither a citizen of Mexico nor the U.S. his tuition would be higher than he can afford. He would like to become a citizen but he is stuck in no-man’s land. This is the kind of person we want here. But the current system has shut him off.

He has a couple of brothers who have not progressed as my friend has. They really do not want to assimilate into American society. Under my plan, they would either have to get on the path that takes them into the system or be deported to Mexico.

My plan may not satisfy everybody. But it comes to grip with reality. It honors the law. It is faithful to our founding concepts and our natural instincts of compassion.

And enforce a time limit that they cannot receive any kind of welfare including food stamps. If their kids can’t speak English charge them for school lessons instead of taxpayers paying for it. Make them pay for their own healthcare like Canada does. Deport those engaging in fraud.

If he was born in Meheeco, wouldn't he be a citizen of Meheeco?

And they can't vote for 20 years.

Personally - I don’t give a DAMN about the welfare of your ILLEGAL ALIEN friends. They can go back to the hell hole they came from ... they contribute NOTHING to the long term preservation of American ideals and freedoms ... Damn - why can’t you naive newbies just shut up ?

Don't strain yourself coming up with a workable plan. Shortly D's and R's will be pushing themselves out of the way to try to hand them all amnesty first. I'm just hoping they'll show mercy to us old has-been English speakers when they take over. Maybe they'll put us on reservations like the last civilization that died out here.

My plan would be very simple. First, turn off the magnet attracting them here, such as free health care, free education, food stamps, etc., etc., etc.,

Can I move to Mexico, renounce my American citizenship, then come back to the US illegally and have all the benefits illegals currently get?

Assuming there are 30 million illegals in America, that's enough to create some 50 congressional districts and they don't even need to vote to do it. If they do vote, you can pretty much count on those districts being almost exclusively democrat. As it is we don't know how many districts exist almost wholly due to the presence of illegals.

The costs of administering a single district must run into the millions. How much pork can a district seek? How many earmarks? What will all those new democrat congressmen vote for?

If you think Obamacare is bad, you haven't seen squat. Wait till the day all those democrats start dictating how many cars a family can have, what job you can have, or where you can live. Wait till they dictate that all paychecks come from government and you get a small cut of what is left over.

Illegals are nothing but government growth hormone and amnesty today is nothing short of treason.

I have little use for these moderates let alone reason to speak to them.

I have more respect for the outright marxists who don’t try to hide the knife they want to stick me with.

“Employers who hire people who do not have the Work Visa are fined.”

Let’s start with this one first. Heavily. No new laws required or anything - just enforce what we have on the books now and implement maximum fines. None of the rest of the suggestions will be needed.

This not amnesty. Under my plan (a) children born in the US are not automatic citizens as they are now, (b) holders of Work Visas are not eligible for food stamps or other taxpayer welfare, (c) hospitals are not required to accept these people even at their emergency rooms. This plan is not a moderate plan. It actually makes things tougher for illegals.

Twenty years, OR until every person who is in the Congress that voted amnesty is out of office....complete turn over so that nobody personally benefits, that being a conflict of interest of sorts.
