Dick Morris, Karl Rove, Fox News and fools: Not fair and balanced

The network of the Republican Party and the conservative movement suffered a major embarrassment on election night.

For weeks prior to the election, Fox News has been giving valuable air time to pollsters and pundits who predicted a Romney “landslide.”

These projections were in stark contrast to reputable poll results that were used in other media outlets; however, Fox News viewers were led to believe that the other polls were “skewed” against Mitt Romney. It turns out Fox News was skewed toward self-promoting “experts” who were universally wrong about their predictions.

The network of the Republican Party and the conservative movement . . .

Which network was that?

Lots of liberals at FNC. Find me some conservatives for balance at any other network

There is more and more evidence that several percent of the Obama voters were fraudulent. I don’t think it is fair to blame Rove for criminal acts that he didn’t commit.

I didn’t see any polls saying “landslide”. Then again, they didn’t say “landside” in 1980 when faced with the same economy, same middle east mess cause by pro-Islamist/antisemite presidents, same sweater speech in the White House, same gas prices, same gas rationing...

Neither side drew the numbers they did in 2008 (a bunch of people don’t give a sh!t anymore).

Meghan Kelly on FOX is cute but a blonde bimbo talking-head nonetheless. Her giddy behavior on election night coverage was very annoying and amateurish.

I think we need all the votes counted and an analysis of what happened. I would tell this author - not so fast until we can examine voter fraud impacts. Morris’ prediction was assinine. There were plenty of guys at this site predicting landslides and I thought they were fools as well. Rove’s prediction was reasonable (280 or so) and about what I had hope for although I expected obama to win due to voter fraud.

Not to defend FOX News because they suck and can’t be trusted, but the polls were in fact skewed. Folks got on the phone and told the pollsters that they associated more with the Republican party than the Democratic party and then those same folks stayed home and did not vote on election day.

Both Rasmussen and Gallup had a R+(3-5) advantage the day before the election and had the advantage actually swung back from D+8 in 2008 to R+3, it would have been a Romney landslide. When the pollsters asked who was most likely to vote, they seemed to also have misled.

Rove and Morris are despicable, but they were just quoting numbers from a lot of people who are very good at their jobs. Remember, Barone blew it the same way and he is not a GOP-e jerk.

I think a lot of people are mentally and psychologically exhausted. We are all sick of the hatred directed at us from schools, hollywood, msm, and politicians. The direct attack on common decency and values has left many shaking their heads in disbelief. It is surreal to say the least. People really are starting to give up. They are not being offered any real visions or alternatives for the future. All we hear about are economics and jobs. What good are they if we remain enslaved to the current system with no real way of bridging the divide.

My theory is that the whole “Romneysia” thing Obama brought up, hit home with a lot of the Independents that were leaning Romney, the day Obama first used that term was when Mitt’s momentum stopped dead in it’s tracks. Plus the MSM started hyping the faux-Recovery, and then for the straw that broke the Camel’s back, Fatso stepped in and sealed Romney’s fate.

The embarrassment we suffered was from believing Americans valued freedom. Silly us.

Fox needs to fire Rove and Morris. They are incompetent has beens, an embarrassment. They need to hire someone that can craft an expansion of the base, since the base won’t come out to vote down zero.

The next candidates need to know how to work a room full of people. Edutainment. They need to generate sound clips of the good kind, not the embarrassing kind.

Reagan knew how to work a room. He knew how to stall a hostile crowd because the event was running late. He had them laughing and and applauding. He was not a manager, or particularly insightful. He hired those persons. His job was to get votes. He and Obama and Clinton were real good at that.

Qualification number one: being able to work the room, entertain while making your point. Everything else will follow.

You know what? EFF YOU. Yea, Fox News is right wing. Eat it. Nobody told you to watch it and nobody is forcing anyone to watch it.

Big old EFF YOU to these liberal morons. Im owning it. Sure, it has Whoraldo and Bob Beckel but Im down for just saying, “yep, its ours”.

Im just so done caring about how the conservative side looks anymore.

Massive fraud by the takers, the media, depending on Orca which fell apart, the media...

I was in Florida last week and there were ads where Romney was saying that he wanted to create jobs, not food stamp recipient. Well, these people don’t want jobs. Free stuff is so much easier....until it runs out.

I’ve given up on FOX, Rush, Hannity, unsubscribed Dick Morris....but not Levin.

Wonder what would have happened if Romney had picked Rubio...

Well said...
This was NOT a “pie in the sky” prediction based on wished and dreams rather than reality. These “experts” with intricate analysis (much given at this site)had Romney slightly up with huge over sampling of dims...
and it looks like the numbers didn’t back up that huge dim sampling, did it?
Each swing state was lost by a slim margin, if I remember correctly, so one could entertain the idea that something is screwy with this election.
Then take in the circumstances we are living in: unemployment, gas prices, spending, etc; then look at the 2010 results then fast forward to today where nothing has changed or has gotten worse.
I think people on FR and elsewhere can be forgiven if they appear to have had unreasonable expectations and to feel this election was a fraud.

Add to that list several notable talkshow hosts who also claimed the polls were wrong.

This time, several of the major polls were hitting bull’s eyes.

It seems it was the talkers who were hoodwinking their listeners.

So, where did those talkers get their misinformation?

Fox needs to hire competent pundits, period. It’s not their job to elect either party and expand the base for us conservatives.

I guess I kind of lost your point here.

if that means they hire Nate Silver and hear bad news, then so be it...

As well, I’m tired of Fair and Balanced and having to listen to the other side like Colmes, interupting and offering lame arguments.

Finnally, maybe this network should go straight news and do away with the cheerleaders, Hannity, OReilley, The Five.... I realize they get the numbers, but I”m done with Fox News Channel. They did little less than cheer-lead for the past 2 years.

This nation is skewed towards idiocy, and there is no success in predicting sanity. Tell your Congress critters to give the Democrats everything they want, to oppose them on nothing. Let the left own it. America is theirs. Let’s see what they do with it.
