Posted on 11/09/2012 1:44:23 PM PST by GlockThe Vote
She warned the GOP back in August many times not to ignore Ron Paul or his supporters or some of the issues he advocated.
Looks like Sarah was right.
Between what they did to her and ron paul - looks like the republican party screwed the pooch.
Romney the Meek and Backstabber Rove
were in it for the money.
I think Gary Johnson represented Dr. Paul and his positions in 2012 . Gary overwhelmed us with his 1% of the popular vote. (And he’s a decent guy). And then Sarah could have won the nomination and made sure Dr. Paul’s positions were not overlooked. I didn’t find her on the ballot either this past November or during the primary process this past winter. She must have been deeply concerned to assure Dr. Paul’s positions were properly represented.
If you watch the clip - she is dead on correct and specifically wanred the GOP what would happen if they marginalized him.
She turned out to be dead on accurate w millions less turning out.
If Romney even some lip service to things like ending the police state / NDAA etc - Gary Johnson would not have even run.
Of course i voted for RR, but I will say on too many issues there was little difference between him and obama.
Hilarious how the Gimmidats know enough not to piss off thier coalition partners...but not GOPers.
A huge meme on Facebook was that there was absolutely no difference between Obama and Romney. This was perpetuated by Ron Paul and Gary Johnson fans. I saw numerous graphics posted on FB and it’s easy for them to go viral, thus spreading their message.
Which is exactly what the GOP did, heh.
Personally, I think if the GOP is going to reinvent itself it’ll have to go more in a Ron Paul direction in order to provide a meaningful contrast. Being Democrat-lite will no longer cut it.
Bingo - the left knows how to keep all their core constitueciences in the fold.
The GOP-e is never going to win by putting up generic type candidates any more.
Not all the votes have been counted.
Palin knows how to appeal to every day people and has good instincts politicially on issues.
What was done to her by the establishment and MSM is criminal.
>looks like the republican party screwed the pooch.”....
They screwed all of us, not just the pooch. The Repubs are a disgrace and need to all be replaced.
Palin was right and as usual the GOP refused to listen to her.
Frankly, I don’t know why she bothers addressing the GOP at all. They wrote her off long ago and she should reciprocate.
Ditto Ron and Rand Paul.
GOP = nobody home
He might make sense on the federal reserve but he is kind of a nut and many of his followers are insane.
watch this - hard to argue w it.
So again, where was she in this race?
In other words; pay attention to the kook fringe racist, America-blaming, dope pushing Ron Paul or his cult won’t respect you.
If I recall, the kook fringe racist, America-blaming, dope pushing Ron Paul teamed up with the Massachusetts RINO to undermine the conservatives during the primaries.
On many important fiscal issues there was no difference.
Both candidates and vp candidates support big government, sometimes on different things, but essentially endless spending, pork etc.
Of the 4 candidates, 3 voted for the TARP bailouts and Romney said he would have if he had been in Congress.
Where is the choice there for people who opposed big government bailouts?
I'd say right where the GOP establishment and Romney wanted her to be. Same with Newt and Cain.
She had the good sense not seek office under the GOP banner.
They would never have supported her and everyone knows that, especially Palin.
Anybody know the stats on the number of potential white voters vs 4 yrs ago?
I know we are dying off and being replaced by non-whites.
All the US population growth is due to non-white births and immigration, isn’t it?
After Rove and others marginalized her after the mid terms - I think she said “Screw It - let em win on their own”
GOP and Romney campaign throw the Tea Party, Palin & supporters, and Ron Paul & supporters under the bus and then wonder why no one showed up to vote for their RINO.
I did vote for Romney but I can see why many Republicans/Conservatives stayed home.
Exactly! I am amazed that so many here forget Romney was the only one NOT marginalizing Paul. In fact, the two signed some sort of ceasefire pact when the primary began.
The libertarian position is very clear - Go to the most extreme measures to save the American economy, and go to the most extreme measures to destroy America socially. Gary Johnson backed gay marriage. There is NO WAY that crap is getting my vote. Besides, I’m hesitant to trust people who think Iran is a rational nation that can be reasoned with.
While I am dissatisfied with the party and its leaders, I’m not ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater and piss on centuries of tradition and culture.
What are you supposed to give them? Free dope?
After Rove and others marginalized her after the mid terms - I think she said Screw It - let em win on their own
See that is the problem - those who hate paul only cite the drug thing - but his message on debt, currency, spending, freedom, is dead on.
Yup. A lot of people shrugged.
Paul and Palin re-elected Obama? Ron Paul perhaps favored Obama, but I do not believe for a second that Palin did.
What are you supposed to give them? Free dope?
Lack of turnout got obama re-elected. Lack of young people got obama elected.
I was kind of being funny.
Paul is great on the economy, but some things he thinks are looney.
Let’s assume that in some crazy world Paul were elected. Does anyone seriously believe he would get even 50% done of what he is for?
What I like about Paul is that you know with him that the bad stuff would stop.
You want to know one issue I kept hearing over and over and over w Romney / Obama - the NDAA.
Had Romney not supported that he could have destroyed Obama on his civil rights record of treason.
That is to funny.
There weren’t even Ron Paul voters to do anything, Johnson gobbled up enough votes a libertarian to keep Romney for winning in three states.
Libertarians need to stop hanging out in the Republican party and throwing their little fits then just hang out with their own kind.
Again - we ignore Sarah’s warning at our peril.
We can’t win elections if we dont have our traditional core groups behind the GOP
Ever see the left screw over their groups like the GOP does?
I do not hate Ron Paul.
I do oppose his racism, his anti-Semitism, his anti-national defense, his anti-life and his lack of understanding of the US Constitution while blaming America first for very thing.
His pro drug prostitution positions are minor compared to the rest.
So we don’t win unless we capitulate to third parties - ok
There is nothing about the current libertarian party that is part of the core group of Republicans.
Correct - WE DO NOT HAVE THE NUMBERS ANY MORE!
You think we will win in 2016 running another generic repub like mccain romney dole bush?
I don’t agree with his views on nat’l security, not seeing the Islamist radicals for what they are. He is pro life and his view on immigration is that if we don’t give them freebies and hire them most of them would go home. I agree with him that we can’t just keep printing money.
Absolutely not. and if people stopped living in fear in the primaries and castigating conservatism and conservatism (that is not the libertarian population) the Republicans are done.
The cowards need to elect a conservative and stop the endless whining “he is the only guy who can win” BS.
The core group of Republicans are opposed to everything on the Libertarian Party platform?
“...those who hate Paul only cite the drug thing...”
His lack of support for Israel comes to mind. So does the fact that an anti-Semitic fringe found refuge in his ‘08 and ‘12 campaigns. Paul refused to repudiate them.
His campaign reminds me very much of Henry Wallace’s in 1948. When asked to repudiate pro-Soviet Communists who were supporting Wallace’s campaign, he refused to do so.
The years may change - but kooky fringe candidates essentially remain the same.
I used to think he is pro-life however he voted in favor of transportation of minors over state lines without parental notification.
He voted in favor of the morning after pill.
Screw the Republicans. Where are the republicans?
I bet she was blocked out. Should she fight the GOP-e to support their candidate? Or, maybe she couldn't bring herself to go along with them.
I don’t know about that particular vote but I know he even voted against some bills he sponsored after they added amendments he didn’t agree with. When looking at the voting record, you need to look at the amendments sometimes they are a breaker.
