RESPONSE TO CHARITABLE REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS

In the future, when I receive requests in the mail from organizations who want a donation, I will return the following note to them in their OWN postage paid envelope:

Sir:

The US government has hired people to take my money from me FOR you.

As a result, it is impossible for me to continue contributions to charities of MY choice.

If you need assistance, I suggest you contact the people the government has hired on your behalf.

Thank you.

The Gov. needs to see, and quickly, JUST HOW MUCH Americans have consistently and VOLUNTARILY given!

The sooner that happens, the sooner the politics of this whole nanny state mentality will be shown for the lying and disreputable sham it is!!!!!

These charities offer a place to go other the government. The current administration wants to replace these charities with government programs. If you have places to go other than the government you are not totally dependent on the government. Many of these charities with help people become self sufficient and learn to help themselves. This will not help the government's goal. All it will do is make you feel good and help the government make people more dependent. And when you do something because how it makes you feel your thing like a liberal.

It should depend on what the organization does and how much of their funding is from the government.If it is for a Unionized organization, especially a public union, I think your response is great. Trumka as much as admitted it was the unions that pushed Obama over the top.

Maybe it will wake them up. I' have been advocating for years that the KOC do something about the so called Catholic politicains who like to call themselves Knights around election time and them go to DC and vote to spend my tax dollars alaughtering babies here and around the world.

We will give only to those in our family who have lost their jobs and are trying to survive. That will take all our “charitable giving.” I’d suggest that prudent people save their money for their own future unemployed family members.

When I became disabled, I had to cut back on my charitable giving, but there were still a few causes I would send a small amount to. One of them was an annual turkey drive — it provided free turkeys at Thanksgiving for the poor. I had a check made out for this turkey drive the other day, but I have voided it. It's unfortunate, but among the casualties of the Obama re-election will be the charities, many of which do a lot of good. Maybe that's part of Der Fuehrer’s plan all along. Nothing will be private. Everything, even charity, will be government controlled.

Since 2010 I had been doing that with the dozens of AARP mailings I would receive - would fold up all the junk and stick it back in their postage paid envelope. This year I have noticed that AARP no longer includes a prepaid envelope.

Love that..I’m going to do it too. I was a the grocery this morning and when I was checking out, the cashier asked if I would donate to the Thanksgiving Food Bank. I told her no, due to the election all my charity is reserved for our own household or people I know personally

I agree with you. The Salvation Army is the one organization you want in case of a problem.

They served hot donuts and coffee to our troops that were sitting on the front line, just a few hundred yards from the German Army. For free.

I’ve worked directly with them in disasters and they are absolutely awe inspiring.
