Whoever thought you could win by losing, probably lost.

I agree with both points, the race card won’t be able to be played as much in politics, and the Tea Party must rise from the ashes of the Republican party and be ready for 2016.

“Oh I know there will be howls from the Evangelicals and such but we’ve got to be practical. It’s not a winning issue for Conservatives, at least on a national basis.”

Those annoying 20 million evangelical voters

Ping, great post. It is time for the tea party to break away and stand on it’s own. The Republican party is dead, well not totally dead it still will be blamed for all the ills that are coming down the pike.I think the best approach for congress is to give berry what he wants. If 100,000 teacher’s is good, 200,000 must be better. Lets give France a run for the money. If a top rate of 39% is good, gosh 75% must be better. The rich will not pay this rate, they will find away around it like they always do. But the clueless in Hollywood will come unglued.

The ship is sinking, and its time to get off the boat. The faster it hits bottom the faster WE can rise it up and steer it on the right course again. It’s going to take something like the tea party to right this ship. The republican party as a whole is as clueless as the left is right now and I see nothing but the same coming from them in the future.

Time to fish or cut bait!!

Another consolation. Mitt is 65 and even though he could have retired years ago - he chose to serve his country. He won’t be the one with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He can travel, jet ski, spend time with his beautiful wife, sons and grand kids. Sounds like he got the better of the deal.

You got it down pat.

Please let us begin by throwing Kristol and Rove off the cliff. Let’s show Ann Coulter how dolts who worship RINO Fat Governors end up. Peggy Noonan?

These people need to go. And I believe we have the power to do it. This would be a perfect place for the power of the Tea Party.

Everytime Fox has that awful, awful Rove guy on, call them up, write an email. There are plenty of good pundits out there, do we really need these liars constantly, eh, to lie about everything?

>>>I'll begin with saying that abortion is an issue we need to remove from the table. If nothing else, it needs to be a local issue, not something a presidential candidate should even be discussing. <<<<

Totally, WRONG!

a) Abortion is a winning issue nationally for pro-lifers. Pro-lifer and anti-lifers are about equal in numbers, but Pro-lifers, are generally, FAR more passionate about it and much more likely to make abortion a deal breaking issue than pro-murder in the wombers.

b) Even if it were a losing issue, we need to stand on principle. The murder of over a million, innocent unborn babies is the single, most important issue of our time. I'm glad our Republican ancestors didnt’ say, “We just need to remove that silly slavery issue from the table.”

c) Where the GOP stumbled this cycle was by a couple of well meaning individual candidates making awkward remarks, while falling into the leftist, anti-life trap of discussing the minutia of the abortion issue, rather than the meat of it.

We need to get much better at shifting the focus off the perhaps hundreds of abortions that occur due to rape or incest, and focus on the million plus convenience abortions that are committed every year.

When a leftist, pro-deather says, “What about victims of rape and incest”, instead of babbling on about “legitimate rape”, or whether a child by rape is God's will, we should say something like:

“Instead of focusing on the very rare cases of abortions due to rape or incest, let's focus on the the million plus, totally elective, convenience abortions. If the Democrats are offering to ban all other elective abortions, in exchange for allowing a rape and incest exception, we have a deal! Here is a constitutional amendment to do just that. I trust, that now that we have removed the rape/incest obstacle, our Democrat colleagues will enthusiastically support it!

While we still believe these abortions are morally wrong, it would be even more wrong to allow over a million to be killed each year, to save perhaps a few hundred, that will die anyway, without this deal.”

This would put the ball the pro-death, Demoncrats court. They obviously won't accept such a deal and it will reveal to those in the middle, that they don't really care about rape victims, but are only using them to push their pro-death agenda.

I liked Mitt, I did. Of course he was running against evil as I saw it. I was against Mitt as the nominee right along but once he secured it I marched lockstep, believing that Obama was so beatable it would be short work.

And our guy didn’t win with all the money he had and against an awful sitting President?

THIS election should be the last time we accept the guys offered up by the Blue Blood GOP. Time for us to admit that they don’t know what they are doing and go off on our own.

What’s that you say? That if we splinter apart we will lose elections?

Heh.

As if Dole, McCain, Romney were great victors.

First, as I cannot say enough, let’s fire the silly pundits who know less than any one Freeper commenting on this thread.

I knew the abortion thing would rattle cages.

First, come on, I do like your re-phrasing of the stupid, stupid arguments offered by our GOP senator wannabes re no pregnancy from rape, etc.

BUT your offering of abortions ONLY in the case of incest and rape will not work; it’s what Romney and other GOP elites who don’t want to deal with abortion say automatically.

If I’m pregnant and want an abortion, no problem.....I tell them I got pregnant with my brother. Or that late date I had that ended up in the back seat, well I wanted my date to stop but he didn’t so technically I was date-raped.

It will save no unborn babies and it’s just silly and naive to think it will.

And if the stance is that ALL abortions should be illegal, hey I can see the commercial now, a 12 year old girl stands with big belly. A voice in the background tells the viewer that she was raped by her father and the Republicans/Tea Party types now demand that she suffer the bearing of her father’s child.

If you don’t think the libs will do this, I got a bridge to sell, cheap. Now slightly under water due to Sandy but I’ll sell it for a dollar to anybody believes the above won’t happen.

This is a case where we use our advanced technology such as Twitter, Facebook, even FreeRepublic if it’s working, to discuss our concerns, perhaps reach a concensus of some sort.

It’s a losing issue. Which is not to say it should be ignored. It should be dealt with in local races but dear Lord do you know how damn dumb our guys sound when they say a raped woman will not conceive?

There’s got to be a better way.

Oh, and that bit about abortion being legal for the health of the mother....I can see it now.

“It’s imperative that Janey have this abortion as having a baby would greatly upset her.”

There you go, give Janey an abortion for her mental health.

Y’all are deceiving yourselves if you think any of that silly talk will ever be taken seriously.

If stupidity was a disqualifier Obama and Biden wouldn't be in office right now.The problem isn't people saying the occasional stupid thing- there is no such person as one who will not say or write something that can be used to thrash him with. Even a failure to say something can be used to thrash a person.

The problem is that when our guys say the right things, things that will resonate, they get no coverage, and seem to be unable to figure out a way to get the message out.

Even Saddam Hussein got his message oout. Maybe we need to start buying reporters Mercedes autos as he did.

I guess you have never heard of DNA testing (or seen the Maury Povich show)? Incest can be 100% proven or disproven be simple tests.

To get an abortion under a rape exception, a woman would have to file a police report and have a rape kit done.

You seem to be looking for any exuse to get conservatives to surrender to the pro-death agenada. If we do that, we might as well just become Democrats.

You bring up such a good point.

And you are right.

The Tea Party that will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of this election will have to deal with a compliant media.

This is where The Wise I sees technology as our friend. Remembering you got to think out of the box and so I shall.

Consider the Benghazi thing. For weeks on end I heard Obama and Rice and Clinton lie and yet somehow, with the help of the very svelte Candy Crowley, managed to put doubt in the public’s mind that it might have been called a “terror attack” right from the start.

I’d decided, as would many of my brethren readers on this thread, long ago as I’ve had to do out here in Realville for yea many years, that the administration had lied about Benghazi in about two days, now let’s talk about why.

Instead the shiny new Tea Party would be fashioned much like our opposition party, the Republican, would use electronic polls (yeah we’d have to work hard on security) to gather the opinions of our members. The new Tea Party would have collectively decided oh in about a couple of days, that the administration was lying about Benghazi.

And instead of agonizing days and days and days of the media tripping all over themselves, including Fox, we could then blast email ABCCBSNBCWAPONYT whoever whoever with demands that we move the narrative along.

Remember, our major strength is in our numbers, witness Chick Filet.

The benefit the Blue Blood GOP and the Dems got from us was the rarity of our collective actions.

I say we use those collective actions and with the right leaders and pundits and scribes such as myself, we could quite effectively use our numbers and there’s no reason not to.

Don’t get me started. I got an idea here and I think I’m waaaaay smarter than Dick Morris and I don’t suck toes.

There is a better way -
Instead of trying to make Planned Parenthood look evil (it is) - the Tea Party should offer alternatives. Open up counseling centers/adoption centers for a start - GIVE THEM A CHOICE.

Good post! The GOP needs to re-think many of its ways and ideas. The Moderate wing should be pushed aside.

There must be some way to avoid main stream media and still reach the public. We need our own channels to hell with them. We shouldn’t even quote them. I never watch them myself. They are just liars and commies.
