That settles it: I'm going on Obamacare. I currently pay over $10,000/year for Health Care Insurance (including premiums and all deductibles) and that's before they pay dime one for a claim.

I'll save over 50% by going on Obamacare and I can help BREAK the system at the same time? COUNT ME IN!

I say we ALL get on ObamaCare and see the doctor WEEKLY to bankrupt the system!

I take it you failed civics and/or Government? It takes both Houses AND the POTUS to do such.

If revenue bills (laws) MUST originate in the House, and yet only the POTUS and the Senate are needed to create valid Constitutional laws, why do we still have a House?

I submit there is a deficiency in your civics/government education as well.

Votes to defund will never pass the Senate.

Please explain how it can pass without originating in the House.

I got in a nasty shouting match with Newt back in the mid-90s over Affirmative Action at a GOP function. I kept asking him when was going to get rid of AA like he promised & he blew up. He got all red in the face & started screaming so I got right in his face. We had to be seperated. The guy did next to nothing with his speakership. That congress could have done so much on immigration & other issues. We got nothing out of it.

That is absolutely true. The fact is that the budget increased. However, taxes where reduced, revenues increased and the increase in federal spending was slowed.

What occurred with Gingrich and Clinton was the proper use of power. Gingrich forced his power, the power of the purse. Clinton bent. You never again saw a serious attempt by Clinton to increase the welfare state. You saw a President who TALKED and was forced to act in a more fiscally responsible manner, and we saw an economic boom sparked by the technology sector who received massive influxes of capital unencumbered by high capital gains taxes.

Just imagine how bad the economic downturn of the 2000-2001 would have been when the tech bubble burst if Al Gore was President and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid where leaders in the Congress. Is their any doubt that a similar situation, as has happened today, wouldn't have mired us in a generational Depression? Especially after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

We are NOW entering into the six year of a modern Depression. We have real Unemployment above 14% for more than three years. We have an average loss of household income of more than $4,000 in three years. Unemployment is higher NOW than it was when the recession supposedly ended in June 2009. Unfortunately We have NO hero in the House. We have an over tanned, golfing, drunken, weak crybaby to represent us.

Maybe they can’t come after you criminally (for now anyway), but they’ll get their ‘penalty’ in the form of deducting it from any refund you’re owed.

Drink that Kool-aide Bubba.

What occurred is Republicans did the monkey dance and you swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

If the proper use of power had actually been used we wouldn't have been MORE in debt after Super Newt's Speakership.

Face it sparky you are trying to perpetuate a myth and no one is buying it. Newt Kicked the can down the road it was all smoke and mirrors and a bit of drama for the TV cameras.

There is only one way for the madness to end now and its not Bohner making a last stand ala Custer.

Its simple. You got to let the stupid people be stupid. To save the Republic you got to let it be destroyed. You've got to let Socialism dig deep into Joe Q Public and exact a terrible price.

The smartest thing the Republicans could do is stand aside and let Obama push us over the cliff. If not we just kick the can down the road a bit more.

Sure, let the Republic get destroyed.

You are a sub moronic idiot.

The last time a great republic fell in the West, the World plunged into a four hundred year dictatorship followed by a millennium of Dark Ages. It took hundreds of years for clean water to flow in most cities once again. Dummy.

"Sure, let the Republic get destroyed. You are a sub moronic idiot."

hahahah your grasp of history is amazing.

We don't have barbarians at the gate we have enemies within the walls and they are in charge. Now either you engage them with armed insurrection OR you let them destroy the Republic. (Break the Federal Money Machine's back)

We are not talking about Goths and Visigoth's storming our shores. We are talking the perpetual debt machine that enslaves citizens. This perpetual debt machine is because of an unholy alliance of the Spenders (Congress) and the Printers (The Fed) they ONLY way to stop the madness is to allow them to crush the debt machine with its own weight or it will never stop.

There is no way to repay the debt we owe. Did you know we now owe more than all the wealth ever produced in the history of the world added together? (When you factor in the unfunded liabilities of Medicare and Social Security and Obamacare and the interest on that debt.)

Add into that fact that we are an Oil Economy AND the oil gets harder and harder to get because what is out there is further and further under the ground. It used to be we had a 1-600 plus ratio of energy harvesting in the oil industry. (that means for every one unit expended your return was 600 units.) As time passes and more and more of the low hanging fruit in oil reserves is used up that ratio drops dramatically now we are getting down under a 1-20 ratio. Its still way better than all other forms of energy as far as the ratio is concerned BUT it means Oil prices will still increase exponentially and there isn't shit ANYONE can do about it.

Add in the debt load and you have a global collapse in the world markets. So we can continue to run your dog and pony show and play games for the TV cameras OR we can take our medicine NOW and get through the heartache so we can start the healing process.

I say let's do it and let the Socialists own it. Then we can toss Socialism on the dung heap and be done with it forever.

No Barbarians? What would you call a Third World country of
114,000,000 peopel who share a 1,500 mile open border with the pre emminant economic and millitary country on the face of the earth.

We have more than 10% of Mexico’s population occupying vast swaths of this country. We have 40 million African Americans in this country. 40% have an IQ under 80. Their average IQ is 85. They have illigitimmate children at a rate of 75%. They have an unemployment rate of 14% and a real unemployment rate of close to 50%. MANY are straight up UNEMPLOYABLE in a modern economy.

A vast majority of violent crimes are commited by minorities, far in excess of their representations in the general public.

Based on current rates of first incarceration, an estimated 28% of black males will enter State or Federal prison during their lifetime, compared to 16% of Hispanic males and 4.4% of white males.

Sixty-five percent of state prison inmates belonged to racial or ethnic minorities in 1991, up from 60% in 1986.

At current levels of incarceration newborn black males in this country have a greater than a 1 in 4 chance of going to prison during their lifetimes, while Hispanic males have a 1 in 6 chance, and white males have a 1 in 23 chance of serving time.

The number of drug trafficking convictions in State courts more than doubled between 1986 and1990. Of persons convicted of drug trafficking in State courts in 1990—85% were male 42% were white, 57% black, and 1% of other races.

Have you ever been to the East Side of Cleveland, or Center City Philadelphis or Downtown Baltimore, or ANY neighborhood in Detroit after 10PM?

If these people aren’t what we would call Barbarians, what are they.

According to dictionary.com
bar·bar·i·an
noun
1.
a person in a savage, primitive state; uncivilized person.

2.
a person without culture, refinement, or education; philistine.

3.
(loosely) a foreigner

You ramblings about the collapse of the country would have one believe that you live in a vacuum. Are you not a member of society? Do you not have a stake in America? Do you have children and progeny that you care to see live in a society ruled by civil laws as opposed to the whims of a dictator?

When society collapses, their is no Gult’s Gulch to escape to.

"You ramblings about the collapse of the country would have one believe that you live in a vacuum. Are you not a member of society? Do you not have a stake in America?"

I see your problem now. You are denying reality.

There is no "if" as in "if the system collapses" There is just "when".

Right now the total for the unfunded mandates of Obamacare, Medicare and Social security plus the rest of the debt and the interest on all of it exceeds 150 Trillion. There is no way to stop it now. There was some slight hope that we would get actual cuts in Medicare and Social Security and reverse course (Doubtful if we could have kept it turned around because the libtards would have pushed for increases as soon as we got any positive signs)

But that is all gone now. Start reading up on the debt bubble. (Its clear you don't understand all the implications) We are in a feedback loop now. They've started with QE3 Why? because 1 and 2 didn't work. The Fed is buying the federal debt by printing more money and issuing more bonds. Without severe cuts right now...(And we are not talking cutting the amount of a proposed increase but actual cuts) in all spending across the board then for the Fed Gov to pay the interest on QE3 they will need to do QE4 and then to pay QE4 they will need QE5. This is fact. There is no way to increase revenues enough to pay the increased debt load of the bonds issued.

AND even if you get actual cuts if you do it wrong you can cause a feedback loop wherein people who lose their fedgov jobs will end up costing you more in pensions and unemployment and another parting bennies.

Bottom line, since we are going over the cliff lets do it on the Socialists watch. Then they get to own it.

I believe their is going to be a realignment or collapse.

What we have to work towards is a structured realignment. The fact is that you are correct, things are dire. They will not be paid. However, we can eliminate many of the debts (unfunded liabilities) by restructuring or eliminating those liabilities.

These changes will happen. Hoping that they occur in a cataclysm and working toward a cataclysmic result will not be the best outcome. Though it may be inevitable.

Sorry but there is no pain free way to do this. Its gonna have to hurt EVERYONE, especially the Obamaphoners.

It will need to be bad enough to make the Great Depression look like a walk in the park.

Think of it as old fashion Chemotherapy.
