MUCH of the coverage of Tuesday’s results has focused on the strength of Barack Obama’s coalition — minorities, women and young voters. But that analysis misses the real point. The contours of the 2012 presidential race were shaped less by the country’s changing demographics than by the underlying attitudes and values of American voters, who are always far more complex than they appear to pollsters.
The president’s victory was a triumph of vision, not of demographics. He won because he articulated a set of values that define an America that the majority of us wish to live in: A nation that makes the investments we need to strengthen and grow the middle class. A nation with a fair tax system, and affordable and excellent education for all its citizens. A nation that believes that we’re most prosperous when we recognize that we are all in it together.
From the 2012 campaign’s earliest days, analysts focused on historic economic and political metrics to explain the steep uphill climb Mr. Obama faced in his re-election bid: no sitting president had been re-elected with unemployment higher than 7.2 percent; or the Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index below 78 percent; or the “right track” rating for the country as low as it was.
Such conventional indicators failed to capture the mind-set of the American people who always had a broader view of the nation’s economic situation and what had happened to their lives...

Actually, he’s right, Vet. However, the values that one are the “progressive, immoral” values of the left—not the freedom loving, responsibility ones of the right. I deleted someone form my facebook account who said the right needed to give up their values and “go with the flow.” Check out the bible passages that speak of the endtimes coming when (such as) women hate their children (abortion) and right is wrong. So many people in this country who believe they are Christians are REALLY going to be surprised, and I believe that time is getting very close.

The kind of “values” my mother told us to avoid like the plague when they tried to offer us free school lunches.
Which is why Bill Clinton was out there scampaigning for this douche saying “voters want a man that they can TRUST!”

I’m sure he’s serious... and I’m sure he’s right.
When you think of “values” you think of YOUR values, which are also shared by most freepers.
What he’s talking about are HIS values, which he describes as...
1. A nation with a “fair” tax system (which means the “filthy” rich pay 90% of the taxes and the bottom 50% none)
2. “Affordable” and excellent education for all its “citizens” (by affordable again he means the rich pay for it and by citizens he means inhabitants)
3. A nation that believes that we’re most prosperous when we recognize that we are “all in it together”. (this is a focus-group-tested variation of “from each according to their abilities and to each according to their needs”... by force if it need be.)
Unfortunately we’ve reached the tipping point where the majority has bought into this and are benefitting (temporarily) from it.

Every oerson that voted for Obama voted for something for themselves. Entitlements, Homos, women for abortion rights and free rubbers Black because Obama was black AND for entitlements.

Right. Plus that wealth makes you rich even if you are only living off the interest. Those who draw taxpayer subsidized pensions are jealous of that stash of cash.
